Pretty much any activity will give you xp! Even hunting, fishing, and yes even killing other players. You can also go into your settings and make sure that even if you use KBM, that your controller settings are set to free-aim and you will get bonus XP for killing players due to not using aim assist. I highly suggest getting the Naturalist role ASAP as it's super easy to make money, quickly do missions, and it's hands on and a little less boring than bounties. Good luck :D
