Honor help - single player

So I keep reading that i need honor level 6 to but these two outfits. How do you see your honor level? I was told to go player, then pick arthur, then look where you can highlight honor. I did that and there are no numbers or level indication there at all. All that it shoes me is the icon for honor, but no place do i see a level or score.
Is it true you still have to do challenges after you buy the outfit to wear it?
Mainly how early can you unlock those outfits by getting level 6 honor? Chapter 3?

Tap ALT or Tab to see your honor, time of the day, how much cash you got and so on.

There is no number when i tap the alt key, just the bar, with no numbers. It stops too no matter how much you add it stops moving. and no number to say what level or points

You can't max out honor in chapter 3. Wait until late 5th or during 6th.

In my experience, playthrough on xbox, freeroam on pc, only single player, you can get honor level 6 even in chapter 2, it would be the max reachable honor level before chapter 5 or 6, as far as I can remember and it is enough to get those high honor outfits. just max out as far as you can so you can buy those, there is no need to keep that level to keep the outfits, you only need the high honor to buy them in shops. And yeah, there are no numbers for the levels, so one has to guess.. on rdr2.org there's more:

Well i got my outfits as early as chapter 4, after the mission to get Jack back to camp. I did allot of chores at camp and said hi to everyone i saw in the city and camp and in between. I tell you press e rob press - r greet r....rob....makes so much more sense, so i see rob and press the wrong button too many times, or i press e to get on my horse when a coach goes by and i get on that and rob instead. But my outfits got bought, chapter 4 early

What I believe, your honor will go up and down until shady belle. bear in mind you might shoot a horse, loot a dead innocent person or bump into someone and accidently shoot him etc. so as you go thru missions and side quests and general wandering about you gain honor and lose it quite easiely,

once you hit shady belle you start getting the choices, be nice, or be a ♥♥♥♥. then your honor will rocket up or down depending how you want the game to end.

Early chapter 4 you get enough honor for the outfits which i think is level 6 and max honor is level 8. You are right no matter what you do chapter 3 will not go high enough to get outfits even if you keep building your honor, it is capped. Chapter 4 was when I got the outfits. Finished play through with maxed thx 4 the help
