The game does not open!
I just bought the game and when I start it the Rockstar launcher opens but the game closes after a second, is there a solution available?

Thank you...!

If you bought this for pc I'm really sorry, you should try to get your money back. RDR2/Rockstar isn't compatible with windows 11 if that is your operating system. I just learned this the hard way after upgrading recently. I've logged over 500hrs with this game only for it to simply stop working. It's a shame, the game is gorgeous. :((((((

I bought the game months ago when he was on sale to play later and now i want to play it but je game did'nt launch

When I launch the game on Steam, after a few seconds the "running" button on the game page on Steam goes back to "playing" as if I had quit the game. When I try to launch the game on the Rockstar Games Launcher, it's exactly the same. I have no message, no error, just the game does not launch. I have +2600 hours of play on GTA 5/Online and I have never had this problem launching these games, even via the Rockstar Games Launcher.

(Im on Windows 10 with an RTX 3060, Ryzen 7 3800X, 32Gb of ram.)

Yeah, you and me seem to be suffering the exact same thing, only I discovered it's got something to do with the launcher/game thinking that we're running Windows 7 for some reason. I've tried forcing it to run compatible to the latest OS option Via admin and it still says "Red Dead Redemption doesn't support Windows 7" and simply quits. Before that it would do as you said, just quit without explanation. I'mma keep digging and see if I can still fix this mess..

The fact that you're running Win10 though tells me this isn't an 11 issue, it's a R* issue. That's heartening at least.

yes I am 90% sure that the problem is not with the OS but with the Rockstar Games Launcher. There are a lot of people in our situation and most of them are on Windows 10. What scares me is that the game was released 3 years ago and there is a problem that has not yet been solved.

This problems been out for a long time lmao its 100% the rockstar launcher, when I first got the game I couldnt get it to launch, I had to factory reset my pc to play it, it worked for me. If it doesn't work on reset, have a backup too lol.

Disable onboard GPU. Most people have one and the game won't launch with it enabled.

Hi guys. I have the same problem as you. It started few months ago. I think it was september when my RDR2 stopped working. It was right after an actualization. I've been writing to support but the couldn't help me either. At least they told me that this problem i conected with Launcher. I have WIN7 operational system by the way and I have many hours in the game so far. So it looks like it's bigger problem, but on Rockstar side.

The same error. i bought again the game thinking that it was because a bad activation of the product but is the same. I have contacted with rockstar support but they seem that they dont know how to help me. I found this error massage in the launcher report document that indicates a crash: [crashdetection] Exit code 0xc0000005 indicates a fatal game exit (reason: STATUS_ACCESS_VIOLATION)

Having the same issue, but have been running Win11 AND RDR2 was working fine right up to this last weekend. It has only just stopped working, and I haven't just updated my OS (beyond a minor patch?) Seems to be a Rockstar Launcher issue, not connecting to their server.
