How do I pick up my weapons?

I got into a fight with some folks and one of them punched me causing me to drop my weapon. I drew out my repeater, but he punched me again and that weapon got dropped too. So I beat him in a fist fight, but now that that is done, I can't figure out how to pick my weapons back up. When I get near it, it says to press Tab to pick it up, but that brings up my weapon wheel ... and nothing else. How do I pick up the weapon?

I can't be %100 sure as things are sometimes whacky, especially in online, but you probably didn't really drop op, it's still in your inventory, you just need to selct it on your wheel. (this happens a lot with hats... like where is my hat? it's in my inventory.)

Find the nearest black hole, open the space-time continuum, and what you are looking for will have occurred millions of years ago and will occur in millions of years from now...then just hit and release tab.

if ur not on ur horse, inventory behaves a little differently.

for example, ur Hat is always available from inventory On Your Horse,

but, if your Hat falls off while you are walking around or fighting on foot, you can "find" it by walking near it, and pick it up ("interact").

The same thing might be true if you drop ur pistol.

possessions that fall on the ground will flashy-glow, as will other things that can be added to ur inventory.

Thanks, but no good. My inventory showed two empty spots. I couldn't select them.

Didn't matter in the end though, as I died (no weapons tends to do that) and they were on my horse when I respawned.

Yeah, no. Thanks for the effort, but I tried both ... and about 85 other keys. Nothing worked.

If you're being hit by an enemy, picking up your weapons will be difficult. When out of combat, I have been able to pick up simply by walking over the weapon, and sometimes I have had to use the tab button. I never paid attention to what the difference was. I have learned not to pull a weapon when within arms reach of an enemy. The only "weapon" that hasn't been knocked out of my hand while in close proximity is the rope.

I won't deny the controls for RDR2 are "clunky," especially when several items are very close together. When looting a camp with bodies laying in what can only be called clumps it becomes very difficult to target a specific item.

No combination of up arrow, down arrow, or tab does anything at all. I simply cannot pick up that revolver.

It seems that in your situation, heading back to your horse is the only viable option to reacquire your missing weapons. As it said by Arthur, "We can't change the past, we can only move on."

Sometimes the game does wonky things. Today, bumped into one of the simple stranger missions where two npcs are trying to open a safe with a sledge hammer. They finally succeed, Arthur rushes in to grab the loot and can only pick up one of the two stacks of cash. No matter the movement, only one. So I left with only half the reward.
