I am beyond frustrated
Where the hell do you find a robin? How is one of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ most common birds the literal hardest thing to find. Over 5 hours spent, countless videos watched.
Hundreds of songbirds, waxwings, sparrows, ducks, turkeys, eagles, crows.

BUT NO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ROBINS EVER EVER EVER

WHERE???????

In the ringneck creek area, northwest of saint Denis, in the middle of the river

You seem frustrated. EVERYTHING is harder when you let your frustration take over.
Relax, smell some flowers. check out that waterfall. Oh look, a Robin!

I murdered 38 sparrows. It got so bad i was shooting them with explosive rounds. They kept ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ spawning, dynamite, still keep spawning. No robins to report. Checked every water source in the western and northern region.

Will report back

Uh... did that help?

I can say I have in fact, seen Robins and even gotten a few from these places:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2hbOGdrumY

Some parts of the map don't have a Robin spawn, but that doesn't mean you won't see a Robin there. Once spawned they're on the wing.

This will be pretty depressing actually:
https://www.gtabase.com/red-dead-redemption-2/animals/american-robin#:~:text=Where%20to%20find%20the%20American%20Robin%20in%20Red%20Dead%20Redemption,East%20south%20of%20New%20Austin.

I'm sure you've been to every one of those red areas. I did as well. You're just not seeing them. I didn't either. Then one day your brain teaches your eyes what to look at... and they're everywhere.

It's frustrating - then it isn't any more.

I swore I saw a quail once, but just couldn't see them. They're so small. Now they're like little waddling roaches infesting everything almost everywhere... I love hunting them....:

I put 14 of them in the satch in 90 minutes - they're my Online Stocking Stuffers when Cripps has a hunger and I have nothing in the wagon... Quail are HUGE next to a Robin, but they're everywhere (almost) as well.

:)

Varmint is fine for perfect robins. To get easy spawns go to the river bend west of Annesburg writing on the map. You will find some big ass rock boulders along the river. Small birds like to rest on those. So just go back and forth through that river bend with boulders and you will get one in no time.

Go use the IGN interactive map when looking for any kind of game, it'll show you most creatures.

so if you want to find it, you should stop looking for it.

but how the game knows you are hunting? its an advanced algorithm made by rockstar or some black magic, but trust me the game knows.
Correct, while looking for robin's i have come across around 5 Grizzly bears. When i have hunted for Grizzly bears, i can never find even 1

When I don't need a Moose - they're like Gators.
When I need a Moose - I have to look at pictures firestorm posts.
There are no Moose in this game - when I need one.

I have killed many Perfect Robins.
My first one was on the rails of the bridge near the Trapper on Roanoke Ridge.
That was just after I saw one on a rock adjacent to the bridge.
I turned and rode away from the bridge for a while - turned back and there it was.

This game absolutely spawns critters in and out according to what it thinks you need to see - in order to reduce overhead. If you don't see something you think should be there (or you want to be there), turn away and ride for a short distance, then turn back and look again.

Sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't.
It's nice when it works.

I found a Robin.
Finally after weeks of searching i found and killed a robin with the bow and small arrows.

Guess what? It was a 2* only and even tho i have the right ammo and the trinket, i still only got a good robin carcass.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gabe newell and his terrible luck giving me heart palpitations

The Robin (or any animal) has to be 3* to begin with. The Trinket doesn't repair 2* into 3*.

Now, go back to that area and find a 3* Robin.
Where were you, BTW?

So what exactly does the trinket do as i know for a fact i have sometimes picked up a 1* pelt and it has given me a "good" or 2* pelt.
I was at the fort, i forget the name but it's the one where you do a story mission to capture a bounty and bring them in. Not the one up north with the military.

Yea, I know the place - Mossy Flats, I think.

Yep... you're in their neighborhood there.

The Trinket picks up ONE *, if you kill an animal with 'the wrong weapon', for instance.
So you blast a Deer with your Repeater (by accident, of course) and took your 3* Deer down to 2*. When you skin it the Trinket will give you ONE * back.

The animal must start as 3*.

If you kill a 2* Robin with a Small Game Arrow which is the correct weapon, you get a 2* Robin.

Seek a 3* Robin - then you're good to go.

My hunt, begins anew.
Pain is eternal.

I like your attitude.
I feel pretty much the same way about halfway through Gambler 8.
This isn't as bad as Gambler 8 - Trust me.
