Relax, smell some flowers. check out that waterfall. Oh look, a Robin!
Will report back
Uh... did that help?
I can say I have in fact, seen Robins and even gotten a few from these places:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2hbOGdrumY
Some parts of the map don't have a Robin spawn, but that doesn't mean you won't see a Robin there. Once spawned they're on the wing.
This will be pretty depressing actually:

I'm sure you've been to every one of those red areas. I did as well. You're just not seeing them. I didn't either. Then one day your brain teaches your eyes what to look at... and they're everywhere.
It's frustrating - then it isn't any more.
I swore I saw a quail once, but just couldn't see them. They're so small. Now they're like little waddling roaches infesting everything almost everywhere... I love hunting them....:

I put 14 of them in the satch in 90 minutes - they're my Online Stocking Stuffers when Cripps has a hunger and I have nothing in the wagon... Quail are HUGE next to a Robin, but they're everywhere (almost) as well.
:)
When I don't need a Moose - they're like Gators.
When I need a Moose - I have to look at pictures firestorm posts.
There are no Moose in this game - when I need one.
I have killed many Perfect Robins.
My first one was on the rails of the bridge near the Trapper on Roanoke Ridge.
That was just after I saw one on a rock adjacent to the bridge.
I turned and rode away from the bridge for a while - turned back and there it was.
This game absolutely spawns critters in and out according to what it thinks you need to see - in order to reduce overhead. If you don't see something you think should be there (or you want to be there), turn away and ride for a short distance, then turn back and look again.
Sometimes it works - sometimes it doesn't.
It's nice when it works.
Finally after weeks of searching i found and killed a robin with the bow and small arrows.
Guess what? It was a 2* only and even tho i have the right ammo and the trinket, i still only got a good robin carcass.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ gabe newell and his terrible luck giving me heart palpitations
The Robin (or any animal) has to be 3* to begin with. The Trinket doesn't repair 2* into 3*.
Now, go back to that area and find a 3* Robin.
Where were you, BTW?
I was at the fort, i forget the name but it's the one where you do a story mission to capture a bounty and bring them in. Not the one up north with the military.
Yea, I know the place - Mossy Flats, I think.
Yep... you're in their neighborhood there.
The Trinket picks up ONE *, if you kill an animal with 'the wrong weapon', for instance.
So you blast a Deer with your Repeater (by accident, of course) and took your 3* Deer down to 2*. When you skin it the Trinket will give you ONE * back.
The animal must start as 3*.
If you kill a 2* Robin with a Small Game Arrow which is the correct weapon, you get a 2* Robin.
Seek a 3* Robin - then you're good to go.
Pain is eternal.
I like your attitude.
I feel pretty much the same way about halfway through Gambler 8.
This isn't as bad as Gambler 8 - Trust me.
