But look... you don't have to take them off the horse. Leave everything on the horse, park it at a hitching post, or with the other camp horses, or in camp, at least, walk over to Pearson and he takes the stuff right off the horse.
Same with Trapper, Butcher, Candlestick Maker... etc.
You did the hard work - let them go get it.
There's always a 'Saddle Icon' in situations like that. Stuff on the horse is under that Icon. You don't have to carry a bloody, flea ridden carcass with you everywhere you go. It's 1899 for cryin' out loud. You are civilized.. Now change your underwear and take a bath, you pig....lol
(I carried a thousand of those things around till I found that out - it changed my life)
Anywhere! Even at the gang's campsite(s)
Cool little trick that I wished I'd known sooner..
But somewhat off topic to that "convenient location"
Wolf pack's and when your satchel isn't complete are a great place to learn this one..
I'll often drop a lesser * pelt on the ground while filling my satchel with the big game meat and pitch the whole 3* wolfs on the back of my horse(s), set up a campsite so I can grill the meat (and skin the whole wolfs) which often teleports you (and your horses) away from the kill site..
Problem is, you may find yourself with more 3* pelts than you and your horse(s) can carry along with more available meat than can be stuffed into that satchel..
The pelt you drop on the ground becomes a easy to follow map marker back to the kill site so when done cooking (making room in the satchel) You can easily relocate the kill site allowing you to maximize all that big game meat you were forced to leave behind, or simply wasted because you skinned them all without available space in your satchel for the meat..
Not that I'd eat dog in the real world!
But in this game, big game meat is the most valuable meat in the game (gold cores)
So yeah, Arthur say's "love me some wolf meat" so don't waste any of it!
Note: you do need to do this as quickly as possible..
But can be done harvesting 100% of the meat and pelts!
Wolf hearts, yeah you'll waste those..
The Moral of this story is:
When your feet hit the ground at Horseshoe - start working for Pearson and don't stop until the Satchel and Camp are DONE!
99 Wolf Hearts is a wonderful thing.
So are 99 Sockeye = $5.34 EACH in St. Denis
So are 99 Steelhead = $5.34 EACH in St. Denis
So are 99 Quail? = Quail, you say? Yea, there are Quail in this game.
So are 99 Potent Snake Oil = $2.?? EACH at any Doctor/Store.
You see where I'm going with this.... of course you do...lol
I wonder how much prices fluctuate for good and bad honour.
Good question.
Probably a little. I'll have to pay closer attention next trip. I thought it was $5.34. Either way - it's worth finding where they live and making the trip with 99 aboard.
A Perfect Gator in Strawberry is worth more than it is in St. Denis.
Same as everything I suppose - worth more in an area where there is none.
