Question: Can I change which shoulder the camera sits on when aiming in Red Dead Redemption 2?

Answer: To move the camera behind a different shoulder while aiming, hold L2/LT and press D-Pad Left to toggle from the left or right side of the character.

So the real answer is:
Pick a Shoulder you like better.
You have 2 choices.

X while aiming is supposed to swap aiming shoulders for the weapon.
I can neither confirm or deny that actually works.

I got used to whatever it is where ever it was.

The real question is WTF do other games put the character in 3rd person directly front and center. It should be slightly off to one side. RDR2 does get it right here. When you Aim or just right click (hold) you can press X key to switch shoulder view.
Thanks for the tip, but the issue isn't when I'm aiming, it's when I'm walking & riding.

I think it is what it is.

Google up a better answer than I did, or get used to it.

it's posture related , you are obviously sitting off center from your monitor , combine that with a 10% -4.7 degree slouch and you get an in game camera angle harmonic distorting perspective , and i havent even touched upon the glasses versus contacts oxymoron , so 1st off stop with the droopy shoulders and invest in some quality shoes and see your chiropractor once a month or a qualified acupuncturist twice yearly and of course go vegan as per Miss Harriet's good posture diet plan,
no need to thank me , i am a giver

Sounds odd to me, but, you should probably check your resolution setting to make sure it matches your monitor.

What exactly are you comparing this "problem" to?

Is your view significantly different to a myriad of screenshots and videos or is it just not looking the way you wanted it too?

Unless you are dyslexic or something, straight is still straight, left is still left, right is right.... etc. etc. I still don't understand you issue. Is the camera supposed to look over your head, hmm no. And in fact you wouldn't want it to, or have fun always getting bit by that snake you didn't see.

I'm going to guess this isn't a camera issue, it's an issue you have because your last great game used a different camera viewpoint.

Adapt and overcome.

Soon you'll be asking why you never played RDR2 before.

It's not much different then how it is in all 3 of the most recent Tomb Raider games. And those games also offer the shoulder to shoulder angle shifting

I prefer centered with crosshair on the top of my head like Infamous Second Son And Risk of Rain 2 do it. There is no need to play your game to one side and switching shoulders.
I had this problem yesterday but I restarted it and it was normal, but now when I try to get on the horse my character simply stays in a T pose on the side xD and also when I press ESC my menu simply does not appear
