Mod the game.
Mods don't affect saving.
It's a walk in the park. Seriously.
I'll give you the ones I use - they do NOT break the game and are easily dealt with:
All those mods above require 13 files:
https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2801250795
I made a folder - put all the mod files in it - then copy from that folder to the game directory. That's it.
When I want to go back to a Vanilla Game - delete those 13 files. <---you have a copy of them to look at so you get the correct ones.
That's all there is to it.
It's harder learning to use the Trainer - than it is installing it. It's copy and drop.
And as he said, Mods don't block you from saving. The only prevention from saving is when you are currently in a mission. Free Roam is when you are able to save your game, But that is built into the game itself and not because of any mods!
Good luck, Partner!!
Following the same trajectory - if you ever get in trouble and the game won't start:

There's a Vanilla Game Folder - delete anything extra you may have and verify game files after. You will go right back to where you were.
Drop all the mod files in the Game Folder - with RDR2.exe
(not the folder shown - that's just a holding area - drop those files in)
Download, unpack and drop the new Script Hook files in as well:
http://www.dev-c.com/rdr2/scripthookrdr2/
You do not need Script Hook's Native Trainer.
You're already using Native Trainer Reskinned.
If any mods come with a version of Script Hook - don't use them.
Always use the latest version of Script Hook from the Script Hook link above - the game won't work unless you do.
If, for some reason you end up with Version.dll - delete it.
Everything except Native Trainer Reskinned is working as soon as you fire up the game.
Native Trainer Reskinned opens with F5 In Game - and you go from there. Activate/Deactivate whatever you want from the giant list. You'll figure it out.
You should keep trying until you figure it out. You are literally copying and pasting files. It is not rocket science.
Depending on the Mods - many of them are arriving broken these days.
The ones I quoted above require 13 files to be dropped in the Game Directory with RDR2.exe<---Script Hook will create a log file - maybe it's 12 out of the gate.
Script Hook (2 files) should be acquired from the Script Hook Link I also provided.
If any of those Mods have a copy of Script Hook - don't use it.
Use the very latest version instead.
Note: You don't need NativeTrainer.asi - Native Trainer Reskinned is already in there, or should be and it's called the same thing, for fairly obvious reasons (to me at least).
