Can my laptop run RDR2?
I've seen the recommended specs, and I am below them, but so am I with GTAV, which I can run with little to no problem. I know, RDR2 is a bit more demanding, but you know what I mean.
I'm on a laptop with integrated Intel GPU, 8 gigs of RAM, and an Intel i5.
I was thinking, maybe I can force it on minimum settings. Anyone have any experience with the game on hardware like that? I figured I'd ask before I buy.
Thanks!

Some newer laptops have better integrated graphics. Search "{your exact CPU model} RDR2" on youtube and you'll see how it runs.

my laptop has i7, 16 GB ram, and integrated and nvidia (2GB) GPU's both. It still struggles to play RDR2 smoothly

Biggest problem with laptops and gaming is the heat. Even if you have good specs, your hardware will automatically throttle when the heat goes up. If you want to game on a laptop, download the MSI Center. It's from the same guys that make MSI Afterburner. In my experience, Afterburner doesn't provide fan control for laptop GPUs, but MSI Center will be able to provide that control. I set my fans to 100% for above 85 degrees F, and RDR2 now runs at a buttery smooth 60FPS with high settings. Of course my laptop is a gaming laptop with high specs, but with increased fan speeds to compensate for the heat, you should be okay at minimum specs. Just don't play for too long and invest in some external cooling equipment as well.

Really needs to have 16GB RAM and GTX 970/980 4GB or 1060 6GB or AMD equivalent GPU. If Laptop then you'll need at least GTX 1070 (Notebook) GPU and AMD Ryzen CPU or Intel CPU that the model does not end in "U" as those are very low powered CPUs.

OS and Game should be on an SSD; Win10 or 11; 64bit

Ya gotta give the full specs. "integrated graphics" coming from some people could mean anything back from Intel HD630 integrated graphics to something much nicer, like a 5600/5700g with Vega "integrated graphics" or even better, Ryzen 6xxxH laptop with something like their AMD Radeon 680M running on RDNA 2 architecture, which is far, far better than any of Intel's integrated graphics.

World of difference between those two kinds of integrated graphics...
But also, neither of which I'd want to run RDR2 on.

If it's any kind of Intel integrated graphics, I'd just go ahead and say no. Yes, you can "run it". But it'll be stuttery (8GB RAM) and super low fps (7-15fps at best) and that's at all low at some bad resolution like 720p.

Not trying to burst anyone's bubble, here.

No iGPU is going to run the game above 15-20 FPS. And that's if you have the current "best" iGPU.

You need a decent CPU and dedicated NVIDIA or AMD GPU with AT LEAST 4GB or more of dedicated VRAM. None of that shared-memory BS.

Check out AMD's latest iGPUs (AMD 6xx). Look at the Radeon 680M. Quite impressive and is the only time I'd say 'you could play low-med RDR2 on laptop at 1080p in the 40-70fps range."

Playing RDR2 on low/medium looks like such utter crap, not worth playing it like that.

But suit yourself. My eyes would bleed if I loading this up on low/medium. It'll look like a game from 10-15 years ago.

So, like GTA 5?

It depends. It says on the steam page 12GB of Ram, but you will be able to run it on 8GB of Ram because the old PS4 has 8GB of Ram and that plays at around 30-40fps on medium graphics. My PC also has 8GB Ram and I run the game at 30-60fps on Medium to High settings.

Just to add my graphics card is a GTX 1650 4GB, so that may be why I can play it. If your graphics card is a GT 730 (like some internal graphics cards) equivalent then no
