This is somewhat telling me that if I got a wife like that, damn better be like Arthur instead ( not dead, but single )
They ruined john with this game - In RDR he is a reasonable person who just got himself involved with dutch and his gang(which at the time was only 4 members) and when they left him for dead after a robbery(assumed bank) he walked away from them - instead of running up crying to dutch afterwards - that scene just pissed me off so much. Serious if you play the first one after playing this - whenever he talks about them leaving him behind - it just feels like he was a whiny kid who never got his way. You either confront the person then move on / or you stop talking to them - then you can say I picked myself up and walked away. Aaahhh I hate this game so much.
In this game they made him out a fool.
The scars on his face(which was thought happened during the bank robbery) was actually his inability to deal with wolves because he sucks overall -despite the fact he's a master hunter in rdr.
They made hose a way better character than john in this game despite the fact he was 2nd worse to dutch in rdr.
Dutch character doesn't really fit his later role - and the only reason they did that was so they could connect it to rdr dutch.
Landscape makes no sense - how is boats supposed to get down and up a water fall? It's the access to the area without going through the moutains - while in rdr black water being the last area had a wide open river that was assumed to be a landing area for people coming in.
If we had what it was preceived to be in rdr - instead of arthur and the rest of the forgetables - and just gave arthur his own game without john - it would have been a better sequel.
Maybe he hit his head way too hard that he had a personality shift - Either way I don't see this as cannon - they screwed up way too bad with this story in order to give arthur his light - Arthur as I said should have had his own game and they could have left john alone instead of ruining everything.
