Why is Abigail Roberts so unreasonable in Epilogue?
It pisses me off to no extent how she simply expects Jim Milton to simply lay over dead or bad men. Especially during the mail mission where it seemed that she was at fault.

It's not even that she's ALWAYS this way! I've never seen her this unreasonable before! I mean for god sake's you're an ex-prostitute, you should know that bad men exist! But her entitled ass couldn't let go of her own head and whenever I try to defend people (which is objectivily a good quality.) SHE GETS PISSED! EVEN WHEN IT'S HER OWN ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ FAULT THAT JIM HAS TO RESORT TO VIOLENCE! It's the mail mission that is important because she takes NO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ responsibility nor does she want to understand Jim's side.

THE ♥♥♥♥ YOU EXPECT ME TO DO ♥♥♥♥♥? LIE OVER DEAD AND MAKE LANCELOT AN ORPHAN!? Rockstar are good writers but are ♥♥♥♥ at family drama, John should have called out Abigail for this double standard but NOOOOOOOoo! She's in the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ right! SHE ISN'T IN THE RIGHT! SHE MADE JIM MILTON AND HER OWN NAME PUBLIC FOR THE MAIL OFFICE! WHO ELSE WOULD HAVE KNOWN THEIR NAMES? Even I'm using Jim Milton's fake name consistently and it ain't even that hard! It was HER fault to begin with that Lancelot was in danger, end of ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ story.

Atleast she goes back to being pre-epilogue Abigail once the house is built. I mean I wish she was called out for being a hypocrite but atleast she shuts up about it.
I wouldn't be as half mad if these were reckless killings, either. I get why she would be mad if I killed a drunken man who wanted to throw hands or beat the ♥♥♥♥ out of a man who was just minding his own business. But that doesn't happen, she's consistently angry at Jim for defending himself and the people he cares about. She's always ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ on Jim Milton and doesn't give him an OUNCE of credit for atleast TRYING to do right, and she's a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ hypcrite.

You may wonder why I say she's a hypocrite, it's because she uses fake names, runs away from dangerous areas with lawmen, and wants a normal life half-in-half because she wants to "protect" the family. But when Jim Milton defends Lancelot and himself and his work place and his property... SHE GETS PASSIVE AGGRESSIVE OR ACTIVILY UPSET! She doesn't even have an answer and all I can presume is she wants me dead and Lancelot an orphan so she can sleep with the doctor in Strawberry.

It reminds me alot of entitled brats who never had the pleasure of knowing what goes down in "the hood". Or don't know ♥♥♥♥ about ♥♥♥♥ that goes down in war areas. Or don't understand why further restricting gun laws for the normal citizen is incredibly ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ retarded.
Abigail you've shot one man who was about to put a bullet in Arthur's head. And then you proceed to act like it's nothing like a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ pyschopath. You are not better than anyone else and the fact that you know how to defend yourself yet hate it when Jim does it is hypocritical and what I say is what bad people want. You're a bad person! QUIT ACTING LIKE YOU AIN'T!

I've also seen on Reddit that people find Lancelot annoying. I don't get it because I see why Lancelot is often emotional, he never had to shot a gun nor witness someone die and he never blames Jim Milton for defending himself. It mostly comes down to parenting. Am I saying you should put your son through intense ♥♥♥♥ like killing a man in self defense? Hell no, no sane person is able to get over murdering another person, if you kill a man and you simply pass it off like it was an ant you crushed than there is something wrong with you. BUUUUT he should be taught things like self defense, staying calm, other ♥♥♥♥...

That's my rant on why Abigail sucks and Lancelot is an awesome kid with parents that suck at being parents mostly and why Jim Milton is atleast consistently a fool.

LOL I got so bored I started talking bad to every female I see. Then I chase her around with Pistol aim at her, keep antagonizing her just to see what all voice lines they have for this stuff for Arthur and John. :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Saloon Ladies: "Hey big boy, looking for a good time"
Arthur: "Heck, you should pay me"

LMAO :lunar2019crylaughingpig:

Did I say you could speak.

I'M TALKING!

Go back to momma.

Go back to your stead with the rest of your kind.

I'm surprised you get around on two legs.

@IvantheFormidable Actually, lemme ask a real simple question:

Do you have any evidence this is how it was meant to be written? All I've seen is speculation and how you've seen things.

Maybe I'm a little dense but I don't see any evidence. I need ACTUAL evidence this is the way she was meant to be written. If you don't have anything other than speculation than we might as well talk about how Hosea and Uncle totally wanted to bone.

The writers wrote her that way.. I doubt they accidentally wrote something

I'm guessing you prove that the Red Dead community is full of idiots.

I am convinced it started with the doctor in strawberry. She went in there the first time, and came out smiling from ear to ear, then sent daddy away and went back inside. Then the reason she got upset with jim wasn't because of anything to do with what he did, but rather her excuse to go be with that guy and get some more. When she was at home and came up to Jim to say she had some "cleaning" to do at the doctor, I swear on my life, she said "cleaning" with the naughtiest wry smirk on her happy face. So my conclusion is she was banging the doctor from the first visit. Someone said she used to be a prostitute, I missed that part, but she did go to the doctor looking for work. 2+2 people. plus she was not dressed as an office cleaner. She was in her best dress and Jim thrown by her complaints didn't even notice that.

She's a woman, she's unable to reason.

Typical child who's never been outside, let alone been with a female besides his Mother and sisters perhaps

She might've been a pro, but then got a kid and wanted a better life for him. Simple.

It's just estrogen versus testosterone. It all goes back to basics. They will always conflict with each other when it comes to opinions.

Anyway, the epilogue should have been an ending cutscene instead. It negatively affected an otherwise great flow of the story with meaningless tasks like shoveling horse sh*t and feeding chickens.

I liked it for that very reason, the "meaningless tasks" show the vast gap between what John is used to, i.e. the gang life, and a more ordinary ranching life. It's just as taxing for him as it is for the player who is used to the same thing. I think this is a great example where the narrative works with the gameplay, as the player is constantly struggling with the same thing that the character is - wanting to explore and get into gunfights and whatnot.

It's one reason to ensure that while you are Arthur that you activate the Stage Coach and Bounty Hunter side missions, but save them for when you play as John, so John has something to do besides yellow story missions, farm work and the game challenges to finish up.

True. I just feel it dragged on way too long.

Abigail wants a normal life for her family, but due to the nature of the lives they've lived, she's unable to achieve it, and is frustrated by this. So she takes it out on John. Probably not the healthiest thing, but as others have said, people aren't always 100% rational. The whole gang being off-kilter is a running theme throughout the game though, so it makes sense in the narrative.

Part of the "normal life" she wants is for John to change from being a man of action who saves the day into an innocent bystander who watches the man of action ride off to save the day.

She's had enough of John getting into gunfights and doesn't want him to do it anymore for any reason, no matter how justified. Each and every single time he goes out to take care of business, he runs the risk of being killed and leaving Abigail to raise Jack alone and assuming sole responsibility for the ranch.

She'd rather them live a safe and boring life compared to the exciting but deadly life of a gunslinger. It's the most rational thing in the world. When there's trouble, let someone else handle it. John's paid his dues and it's high time someone else paid theirs.

From a gameplay perspective, it's not very entertaining and most players would rather stop playing than have John just roam the ranch doing chores. It's also very repetitive, which can get annoying, but there's nothing irrational about it. It's actually pretty sane.

Most of what there is to do as John in the Epilogue is in regards to things Arthur couldn't possibly finish, due to inability to venture out to New Austin to complete various Challenges and Side Quests and such.
