I need a moose antler for camp. I can only find 1, on the upper left lake (I dont remember name but frozen one and had a encounter.). and that one moose dont have antler. I try to look nearly all possible locations. Do you guys know how can I find one, especially with antlers. Thnx anyway...

Whenever a Moos spawns, there is a chance for it to be a Male or Female Moose - and only the Males have Antlers.

It is Random Chance that a Moose will spawn, and also Random Chance that it will be a Male.

Revisiting a spawn location several times during the game, and capitalizing on it when it happens, will often ensure success.

When i get frustrated, i do a bit of save scumming - making a manual save about a 10 second horse ride away from spawn location, then reloading, searching, then reloading again until a Male spawns.

This guide shows the most reliable "Moose Spawn Locations" - good luck.

This has been tested - and it works:

1) use a trainer and spawn a dozen of them at Heartlands Overflow... Moose Down.

2) Clear an area of all animals - ride back to the middle of that area and drop a Standard Herbivore Bait. I got a Moose to walk into Dewberry Creek - by accident - in shock I shot it. At that time I'd only seen one of them.

Here's a fairly reliable (20% chance) Moose Spawn - if you get bored riding up there, bag a couple of those Cougars to keep you busy:

If you need the horns for Pearson - do NOT hesitate to shoot any Bull Moose ANY Condition - Pearson needs the horns - they don't have to be perfect.

To ensure a kill - use an Improved Arrow.
A Moose is a MASSIVE animal and anything short of a Springfield, or Rolling Block - Express Ammo - might not drop it clean. An Improved Arrow will go through that big head and be in a tree or the ground behind it. A head on shot - the arrow will be inside it - you can forget getting that one back...lol

Thank you a lot man, for your effort and spending your time to write this masterpiece. I got 3 moose without your tactic, and only 1 of them is male. I found him while hunting Legendary Bison, but a stupid 'Stranger and Freaks' thing pop-up. And I said, lets give it a chance but first save the game. And I died while searching that stupid feller. And I said to myself : 'Haha I outsmarted the game, I have pelt and antlers.'. But game is stupidier than I thought. It didnt take pelt or antlers. I loose my one and only antler. But Im going to try your tactics. Bc I know and I feel that one will work.

I posted this question yesterday and received this brilliant reply from IDwLoD:

the north has some decent spawn options for moose.
start above Brandywine Drop (above Annesburg).
the moose often hang around the water there.

from Brandywine Drop, follow the road Left towards Ambarino,
there can be a moose above the road there (above the O of Ambarino).

other option is Owanjila left of Strawberry, moose can spawn at the water when riding towards the dam.
and follow the road up to Little Creek River, moose can spawn in the field under the homestead with barn.

if you keep riding between these locations you can probably get a few moose to spawn.
and i noticed the moose seem to spawn more in the early evening.

good luck.

thanks a lot to you too. I have a great spot at near annesburg. I guess its same spot you mentioned. Thanks again for advice, but I dont use trainers etc. . But this female moose thing is a r* classic. There is no random chance in games of r*. Everything is scripted or made by AI. It aint give another response to situtations. I made a save scum like other dude mentioned. But always female, always 2*, still 2* with trinket. Situtaitons like that, need to waste a few hours far from the area. But thanks for your opinion.

Yup - Brandywine Drop is the most reliable Moose spawn location that i've seen in game.

But i normally find them at Barrow Lagoon or east side of Cumberland Forest (more rare, but i pass through there often - so, just need to watch for the opportunity)

Lake Isabella moose spawn is pretty reliable - moose spawns on the West side of the lake, center area, west of island, near where the white arabian is located.

Lake Isabella isnt working for me xD. I found a male near annesburg, near legendary moose. I spend 3 days for an antler. Thank you again for your efforts man appreciate it.

Idk if anyone read this one but, the picked one for answer is the solution. Choose a spot, make lots of save scum. But if you find a 2*, female or doesnt match for your need, just change your timeline. You can camp, or go to sleep in a near town. But if you kill an animal near the location, clean the area from carcasses or get out the area and try another spot for 2 days. Dont try too hard save scumming. Its just make your time wasted. If you see it and you dont need it, dont try again. Bc everything is planned by AI, its rate or gender etc. Good luck anyway...

Another easy moose spawn you can add is on the ledge between Wallace Station and the River. Just run there and check anytime you take a train to Wallace Station and one will be there sometimes. Also any known Moose spawns you can put down bait and run away and then come back, sometimes they magically appear. So if you are save scumming just drop the bait after your save so you dont waste it. I usually use Annesburg and Colter because there are 2 spawn locations I can check there at once. I really don't have much trouble with Moose any more because I know so many spawn locations in game and look for them from the start.

Never came across a moose in any of my playthroughs, will definitely take some of this info and good hunt for one soon.
