Night Folk are the least balanced enemies in the game

Apparently you can go the entire game and never encounter these idiots. But I ran into two separate encounters in about ten hours and each time they ambushed me and killed me with knives in two separate places.

Is there some trick to dealing with them or can they only be killed with dead eye or something? If you don't waste the pack in under three seconds you're dead. Wondering if it would easier to just load up on dynamite or fire bombs.

I can't see how the Night Folk are overpowered as the Murfree Brood are the same way, as they can one shot knife you. And I don't have any issues with any of the enemies in the game. I guess I've been lucky with The Murfree Brood. They usually carry wimpy little revolvers and have mediocre aim. They will shout at you first so you never get ambushed. They seem too stupid to be a real threat.

Never had a problem with the Night People personally, they die, even had knife fights with them and they die.

I enjoy killing them, along with everything else in the swamps, just keep your head in a swivel and listen to the enviroment, and if you miss a threat, your horse will doubtless get triggered over something.

I first encountered them with that event with the woman crying in the swamps... i just about poohed my pants when they came at me.... I wish The Nightfolk and the Murphree Brood were in Online as well... those are some fun enemies.

Bring a shotgun and use dead eye if necessary.

The problem is if you get to the swamp too early you don't have upgraded dead eye to mark and shoot them all. I think there's four or five and some are hiding behind trees. But that is solid advice otherwise. Maybe the auto shotgun would be better than my crappy cattleman pistol.

You're probably right. But, it's the swamp, the horse is doing that constantly because of the alligators and snakes.
