Is the Blood Money Opportunity Worth It ?
Just hoped back in to see what the new update was about. Thought Id check out the blood money missions and realized they gave little to nothing. Is the reward for the Opportunity mission worth the gold to get in it ?

I'm still trying to figure out what this capitale currency is even for.

If you own online, then you get blood money for free, so it is automatically worth it. If you will enjoy it depends on you. It is slightly new and has some things you haven't done before, but it still boils down to kill what you want, take the loot, and deliver it.

I heard some youtuber completely trashing it saying it's a huge grind, totally lazy update and it's basically no different than Stranger missions.

Slight exaggeration, but it can definitely seem that way. You run basically a stranger mission, though sometimes it is on a train, or in a bank which is new. While on the mission, you might find capitale bonds (special cash) on bodies you search or in boxes and drawers near your objectives.

Then you can use capitale to go on special missions with bigger payouts. The problem is, capitale is not guaranteed, so you could get anywhere from zero to like ten per mission. The most accurate average currently seems to be 0-3. The extra missions cost 25 capitale to enter. Which basically means at least 9 missions for a chance to go on the special mission.

You don't have to pay any gold so that is okay, but yeah, just more kill and fetch missions with a few new locations. Fully voiced though, so the mission givers and the new npc all have voice lines about the missions, but that barely means much in Red Dead.

the question wasnt if the content was worth the money lol ... it was if its worth grinding out Cap for the final mission ... and the answer is .. maybe once i guess ? but in all reality .. no

Not really, unless you like waiting around to get a bigger pay like in bounty hunter.

They're also extremely boring and pay measly if you rush them, and the first mission (stealing the emerald) is way too easy to be any fun, even on ruthless.

If you want money and gold, just stick to doing dailies and moonshiner, they're the only things that are actually worth a damn.

Also, be sure the to do the quickdraw passes, they actually give you a hefty bit of gold, sure you have to opt in 25 but you get more out of it, i wish rockstar would actually do the passes like this always, far more better.

Gives you a tiny bit of content to chain you over to at most the next "update", if you haven't already abandoned online.

I still don't understand where the content is. I though it was going to at least be like last Julys big summer update with the naturalist role, and outlaw pass.. This is just a small watered down update, with very little content. I hope this isn't the "big" summer update.

if you read any of the rockstar notes it's going to come in multiple phases of content broken into parts like the new outlaw pass thingy.

You can also do the blood money stranger jobs to get some capitale for free, it just takes time to get enough to try even the easiest difficulty.

But if you get the quickdraw pass, there are unlocks for getting enough capitale for 3 ruthless emerald heists.

Sounds exactly like the youtuber described it. Huge grind with barely any difference between stranger missions.

"Zero upfront cost" Doesn't mean much when we wait months and months without much word from rockstar on the future of the game, Only to get dumped with what's essentually just reskinned stranger missions that pay out like doodoo. There is 0% incentive right now to do these missions over say, moonshining or trader for $$$ reward. Especially since the 'capitale' isn't for sure on every mission.

This whole update feels like the naturalist update, where all they did was take 60% of singleplayer content, slap it online and claim it's a brand new thing.

I personally suspect the lack of good content is due to the fact they have all hands on deck creating GTA VI.
Myyrä Jul 16, 2021 @ 4:01am
Rockstar is just fine milking the playerbase with substandard dripfeep or "minimum viable product", some people even simp out by saying that "it's good since it's free", i'd actually rather pay for it if the content is good, instead of worthless sh't like this that sucks even if it's free.
