Why so many chinese people?

Whenever I play this game people will get on voice and start speaking chinese. Why is this game specifically so popular with chinese people? Is it just because there are no regional servers?

To answer OP's question, probably because about 1 in 5 people (worldwide) are Chinese, the second largest group (a loose group as they span a whole continent) of people now are Africans IIRC, most Africans don't have easy access to computers and the Internet, whereas Chinese people (at least in cities) do.

He uses a VPN to set his region away from Asia so maybe all Chinese people do it? China does after all have some pretty 'strict' Internet rules so everyone there probably uses a VPN so they don't end up donating their organs to the next rich guy to show up at their "book a transplant" hospitals.

Surprisingly this game and GTAO both have a huge chinese presence. Funny enough china has their great firewall which prevents people from normally hopping on the internet and enjoying such luxuries. There is a steam version specific for china that only allows very specific games, none of which are GTAO or RDO. So they bother to use VPNs and all this other stuff just to get on these games.

The real big thing to me though is that pretty much all chinese players are using a mod menu. They are also on average overwhelmingly bad at these games which makes it a drag to play missions with them as they'll either grief intentionally/accidentally with the mod menu and fail the mission or just be so bad you'll have to carry their weight for them.

If you see names like LF28193791 or other assortments of jibberish, it is usually a chinese player. So if you haven't been seeing XiaoBingBing, doesn't mean you haven't been playing with them. Not all of them use voice, but you can get them to respond on voice quite easily so they are listening if anything.

I wouldn't hate these guys so much if they weren't just some of the worst people to play with. You do a free roam mission and you got some dude with god mode standing on top the objective while he systematically spawns molotovs and dynamite on top of everyone else. I feel that recently the blatant mod menu rampages have died down, but it was just a few hours ago where my moonshine shipment got blown to high hell by ChingHo281937 so its whatever.

Why are they on these caricatures that simulate western life, I don't know. I don't know if their government wants them to know that we have so much money we have nothing to do with it except rob the banks we own for entertainment.
