Sorry for a silly question but I'm not a native English speaker so I'm a little confused with a sentence "May I stay unshaken". Does it mean to ask for a permission to be brave? If so, who did he ask to and why did he ask for a permission for himself to be brave?

I don’t believe the singer is asking for permission to be brave.

They’re hoping that they’ll be brave, or at the very least ‘appear brave’ as their world crumbles around them.

That’s my interpretation anyways. :)

Given the context and the overall theme of this game, it mostly refers to the rapidly fading world that Arthur is accustomed to, and it changing into one that is strange and unknown to him, and in a way, a clash of worlds, the old and the new. It also mirrors what's happening to Arthur on a more personal and physical level, and him leaving the living world and facing his demise . The "may I" part reflects Arthur's inner hopes and doubts regarding whether he can manage to stay "unshaken" amidst these different "clash of worlds".
