From Red Dead Online to RDR2 Ultimate Edition
So, after two days exchange of messages with
Rockstart Games Customer Support
I lost all hope of getting a specific answer...
maybe you guys can help:
I bought recently on Steam RDR2 Ultimate Edition (60% off)
so far I have played Red Dead Online standalone edition (Steam also)
I want to unlock all RDR2 achievements on Steam
that's why I want to switch to RDR2 Ultimate Edition
and I don't know how to do it
in order not to loose progress in multiplayer (2040 hours of gameplay)
I would be grateful for the tips.

so how to proceed?
1. Uninstall the Red Dead Online standalone edition
using this guide - https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/360042747034/How-to-Perform-Clean-Install-of-Red-Dead-Redemption-2-on-PC
2. Install RDR2 Ultimate Edition
3. paste Backup Save Game files
4. hope for the best...
I care much more about my online character progress then
unlocking all RDR2 achievements on Steam.
for 100% someone has already had such a dilemma
and can share experiences.
No, simply start installing rdr2 and it will detect rdo's files (you might need to select same drive/library). And it will only download couple extra files.

I don't think you lose multiplayer progress long as you use the same account.

I can unlock those achievements legit.
i just wanna know if game counts my muliplayer progress if i switch from RDO version to RDR2 Ultimate.

You won't lose your Online progress. Your R* Social Club and Steam accounts are linked.

As long as you had RDO on Steam, if you buy RDR2 on Steam. Once you launch RDR2 with same R* SC account, it should transfer any achievements from you having played RDO stand-alone over to RDR2.

I now have two separate games on Steam
I did not install RDR2 Ultimate Edition because
I do not have the required disk space on the system drive.
so far I have found a hint that it is necessary
to perform clean install
https://support.rockstargames.com/articles/360042747034/How-to-Perform-Clean-Install-of-Red-Dead-Redemption-2-on-PC
and i'm afraid it can reset my online character stats.

There is nothing to backup or save from RDO over to RDR2. The RDO from within RDR2 uses the same files, which it download from the SC service. You never need a backup copy of the online profile on your PC because it will always get that from the SC service. All your RDO stats are saved to your SC account profile and would be auto transferred back to your PC once you go to play the Online from within RDR2 game. But yes you must do an uninstall of RDO. You can't have both RDO standalone and RDR2 on the PC if you wish to play RDO from RDR2.

It will also be helpful to uninstall the Rockstar SocialClub API and Laincher from your PC as well. Once RDR2 is on your system fully, launching it should then launch the latest installers for both of those Rockstar apps needs for such a game (SC Runtime + Launcher) which are included within the RDR2 game folder after the download of said game is completed.

yup this was that simple in my case.
all I had to do was uninstall Elden Ring from the system drive
to have this 119+ GB free space.
Thank You for the answer.
