You should be:
Learning how to do things
Sprinting everywhere - to build your stamina so you can pull the bow string - 'cause right now that's your most effective weapon.
I enjoy Chapter 1. It means I've got about 600 hours of Epic Game in front of me. I savor every moment.
Yes, as "Prologues" go, RDR2 Story-Mode (SP) Chapter 1 is rather lame.
The control wheel is pretty horrible for KYBD/MS (nevermind the contextual controls), and learning the bow, etc was somewhat necessary, but i got the distinct feeling that the Prologue was more for the Developers than for the player.
Fortunately, though, Chapter 2 is pretty much a "Pause the Game and Explore the World" chapter.
And that's one of the details i really like about the game design - simply walk away from the Main Quests and they will wait - literally forever.
Just don't start a Main Quest item unless you plan on finishing it...
But all the Main Quest parts have the same flavor:
The quest of takes over your game, makes you follow along in a pre-set story, gives you no actual choices, gets you stuck a few times becuz the controls suck so bad, and then your done with little reward (sometimes followed by some bugged out dialogue back in camp).
The Story writing and Voice Acting are mediocre. The controls are terrible.
But the open world aspects of the game a really good.
playing a game for 600 hours before it gets good is a rather tall ask
(and tutorials are not there to be lame...they are there to engage the player with the mechanics)
..the promise of a bow ...makes me want to continue..i like bows, they are awesome
Better read that again - you really missed it.
600 hours to get to the credits on the other end of this Epic Game.
Chapter 1 is the kickoff. Love it.
I already capitulated and have built muscle memory for the controls and all new bindings - it took a while - the game was worth it.
2000hrs - 3.5 playthroughs - still going.
The keyboard controls on this game are ASS, though. Especially because storymode will automatically change your loadout sometimes. The bow is nice, though. The stealth kills are pretty cool. I find entering deadeye with a bow in keyboard a pain in the ass, though, and imo it's easiest if you remap deadeye to something other than middle button.
Ah - yes - i agree. Prologues should not be used to judge the game.
It did - what's the problem?
You must need more Jonah and Less Arthur:
