Arthur's Journal has totally disappeared from my satchel

i might be experiencing a bug where Arthur's journal isn't showing up in my satchel, This issue occured after chapter one, I've searched all over the internet but none of the remedies described work, please help me, i'm around half way through the game and i don't want to start over.

I've already tried using journal hotkeys and resetting keybinds but nothing works.

The keybinding just does nothing? Wow, since you can't really lose the journal and if you didn't change anything in your save files you must have experienced a real strange bug. I don't think your journal will come back, just let's hope that this bug doesn't affect any of your missions.

To all of the above - it doesn't work for me but thank you for replying.

My key bindings work fine and I tried changing the journal key to a different key to no avail.

The journal is not in my satchel (I looked through every section to make sure but I know it's supposed to be the last thing in the documents tab)

I don't have and never have installed mods for this game.

I have verified all of the files already.

I know it's so annoying. I read that someone said it should come back after Arthur writes a new journal entry for a chapter (i.e when Sean dies) but it didn't come back even though I saw him put it in the bag!

1) tap the journal key - don't hold it.
2) I just saw about 300 assorted threads regarding a missing journal - tho I have never had it go missing myself. <---there appears to be no cure - it's just gone. <---and has been happening since day one on all platforms (one would think a bug that big would be easy - guess not).

If it bothers you that much - start over (or load a previous save if you have one - too bad if you don't), but first I would verify game files (again). Seems any files missing in that area would be considered important.

Hi, I tried just pressing it in the first instance and I have tried both holding and pressing at various points. Neither appears to work.
I am pretty sure I never had it in this play through because when I did reload back to my first save (literally just out of Colter) I didn't have it. I think what I'll probably do is restart and make an edited save with all my progress on it to match using the Nexus Mods save editor. It locks me out of some quests like the dream catchers one because I can't use the journal to see the map so I think this is worth it.

Maybe try going to some of those points of interest that can be drawn "manually". Could work differently than drawing stuff post missions.
