Need help! The game is crashing in every 10min
Hey guys! I have GTX 1050 with 8gb RAM. I started playing RDR2 last month and in the first 2 weeks was everything fine with ultra-medium settings. But one day the game has started to crash in every 5 minutes of playing. I tried everything, reinstalling the Nvidia drivers , changing the graphics settings to low (everything on low) but the game did the same. CRASH.
Then I tried reinstalling the game..well that worked, the game stopped crashing.

After 1 week of playing without problems, untill today..the game started crashing again. I reinstalled the game again cuz the last time, reinstalling solved the crashing. But this time don't. Anyone know why the game keeps crashing every 5-10 minutes?

Maybe I need more RAM. I'm thinking of buying 32gb ram to my laptop because now I checked the memory and it was full lol

I would say 16GB RAM, this game loads 10GB into RAM on my system. And, I wouldn't recommend playing on a laptop, but... set the power plan to "Performance", not "Power Saver", while playing this game.

And make sure there's plenty of airflow around the laptop's vents.

The true is..the game crashed everytime when the vents were worked.
I tried to put something under the laptop so the vens are cooler, but it's still crashing lol

The power plan was already set to Performance. The strange thing is.. the game worked perfectly 1 week with 40-45fps ( Ultra-medium settings ). And now nothing helps. But I checked with Task Manager if the memory is full, and yes. 7.7gb of 8gb was used . 95% from RDR2 lol. I don't know what happened

Always use a "laptop cooler" (googleit) when gaming. And yes, RAM full then the swapfile (eeeccckk)....

Yeah lol, my laptop is Asus ROG so its a gaming laptop. I will buy a laptop cooler and more RAM (16-32gb), this will solve the crash?
Before RDR2 I played AC Odyssey, and I finished the game with 0 crash.

RDR2 worked fine, but from today its crashing. If the RAM its the problem, why the game its worked this week perfectly? Yesterday I played 6 hours with it without turning off my laptop, and it worked perfectly hmmm

Maybe, maybe not... but, a laptop cooler and more ram for a 'gaming laptop' is highly recommended. As to crashing.... it may be software related, seems a lot of people are experiencing crashes similar to what you describe.

Try increasing your pagefile size.

Yeah, how can something fail, when it was working just fine before, right?

You're clearly not the brightest light in the chandelier.
Make that three 'sarcastic' posts, really?

Yeah I saw a lot of discussions about this problem. But i don't find a solution for me yet. It's really annoying. The 4gb VRAM its not the problem cuz I tried playing with low settings and was still crashing.

It's whatever they did with the last patch that messed up gun belts and other things gonna have to wait til they fix it. If they ever get around to it...

100 MHZ from core clock and 100 MHZ from Memory clock and try it .

if it works now remove only 90 core / 90 memory until you find a sweet spot for me its -80MHZ/-60MHZ

today i only remove -70 / -50 and it works no more crashing !
nvidia gpu driver version 27.21.14.6089

Try reinstalling your Graphics driver. It might have become corrupt or possibly just be bad driver. Try reinstalling the newest one available and then if that doesn't work, roll back to one that you remember working with no problems.

Also, choose the option for a clean install. That way it unistalls the driver first and replaces it, rather than just installing over the top of it.

Does it give any error when it crashes? Does it crash back to desktop or just lockup/freeze? Bluescreen? Or does it switch off restart?

Blue screen is normally a memory or hardware issue. A restart or shutdown can be an overheating issue.

I already tried it. Uninstalling all NVIDIA drivers, Then installing the latest one and i did clean installation. But same.

And no, it crashes without any error. It freezes 5 sec than crash. And after crash nothing happened.

But, I solved the problem. A file was missing from the game folder lol

Anyway, somebody told me I have a problem with RAM. Today the CPU hit 90°C after launching the game.
Now I bought a laptop cooler, and I will buy more RAM. I hope it will fix it
