Can you get banned for using someone else’s glitch?
Firstly, no I have never glitched or participated in any given that I don’t want to lose my account. But my friends are using one that other players glitch. So they don’t do the glitch themselves but go and get the reward once it’s done. I’ve told them don’t do it in case they get banned but they think it’s calm coz they aren’t the ones doing the glitch specifically. I jumped to PS4 because of them lol so I’d rather not see their accounts wiped for doing it.

Are you still at risk of being banned for getting the money from a glitch but actually doing it.

Regardless of this I’d rather not do it anyway because then there’d be nothing to grind for with them.

Thanks in advance for any responses

Yeah. There's stories out there of people being banned for getting ill-gotten goods from hackers/modders on their horse to turn into Cripps, even when they didn't want it. With banning stories it's either the people telling others they are banned unjustly are lying and did something to get banned, or Rockstar is being Rockstar with incompetence investigating actual modders and differentiating them from normal players who were in the wrong place at the wrong time.

My take on it is if you have to ask or make a thread about it, you are safest not doing it.

You're fine. Your friends probably arent at risk too if its a dollar glitch.
If you are talking about illegal/cheater gold chests, if you/your friends didn't collect above 10 under 24 hours, should be fine as well.
Rockstar anti cheat is a huge joke.

If a cheater spawns animals and donates them to cripps, its 100% safe and not bannable.

Like you said, Rockstar anti-cheat is a joke to a point where nothing is 100% safe and not bannable.

Yeah I get you. Fair point. They’ve already done it now anyway. So I guess it’s just a waiting game to see if rockstar pay attention or not.

Yeah it’s just a dollar glitch I think. No gold. Just selling pelts.

Those stories are almost certainly fake/not true, even if cheater spawns legendary animals and donate 100 of them to cripps, its not bannable. Same with dollars in general.
Illegal gold chests are a big no if you don't want to get banned. Stay away from that you are good.

I wouldn’t risk it. o_o

Rockstar’s pretty notorious for applying the ban hammer liberally, and it’s Rockstars policy to _NEVER_ appeal a ban for any reason.

Where are people hearing that you won’t get banned for trading in ‘cheated’ carcasses to Cripps? Last I heard people were getting banned for that.

lol, it’s gotten to the point where I’m too afraid to join posses on ‘trader sell missions’ because I’m worried the reward money will be coming from cheated animals. @_@

If there’s a credible source that says this isn’t a problem it would do my heart a lot of good to see it. It would be nice not having to be so paranoid about joining random posses (or having randoms join my posse). :P

Yes. My friend been banned, on next day after short play in session with cheater, who all time create coguars arround players and change daytime. He don't use any of this cogs to produse or sale and get any proffit, but get ban on 30 days, and his character been deleted.

i was thinking that old glitch in red dead 1 where you could get under the floor in that mexican house.. banned plus everyone else who was under the map with you

A glitch that duplicates items or gets more value is difficult to track but would be an issue eventually.

Cheaters spawning items that are then sold would be easier to track and might get automatically noticed which then could lead to action being taken in a couple of months.

People using a glitch so that multiple people manage to sell the same pelts for profit would probably have rockstar more interested in stopping the glitch than banning people.

As for getting banned for "someone else's glitch". It has happened but only after habitual use, and probably after getting reported as the system might not detect the issue normally. By habitual use, I mean that if someone continues to use a glitch several times a week for more than two weeks, then the longer they use it, the more likely there will be a ban if they are noticed. Rockstar does not ban for single use, or accidental use when they see it was not a repeated pattern.
if someone comes up to you and puts down a 3 star pelt and then leaves..don't pick it up. If you get caught with stolen goods, prepare to pay the price.

Happened to me, I picked it (3 star cow hide) up and donated it to Cripps. Not banned yet, but I would be cautious at all times.

This is exactly what happened to me and a few others in a lobby one night. Until Rockstar admits defeat and lets us create private lobbies I'd not invest too much time grinding gear in the online portion of the game since you lose everything if they suspend your account.
