My take on it is if you have to ask or make a thread about it, you are safest not doing it.
If you are talking about illegal/cheater gold chests, if you/your friends didn't collect above 10 under 24 hours, should be fine as well.
Rockstar anti cheat is a huge joke.
Yeah I get you. Fair point. They’ve already done it now anyway. So I guess it’s just a waiting game to see if rockstar pay attention or not.
Illegal gold chests are a big no if you don't want to get banned. Stay away from that you are good.
Rockstar’s pretty notorious for applying the ban hammer liberally, and it’s Rockstars policy to _NEVER_ appeal a ban for any reason.
Where are people hearing that you won’t get banned for trading in ‘cheated’ carcasses to Cripps? Last I heard people were getting banned for that.
lol, it’s gotten to the point where I’m too afraid to join posses on ‘trader sell missions’ because I’m worried the reward money will be coming from cheated animals. @_@
If there’s a credible source that says this isn’t a problem it would do my heart a lot of good to see it. It would be nice not having to be so paranoid about joining random posses (or having randoms join my posse). :P
Cheaters spawning items that are then sold would be easier to track and might get automatically noticed which then could lead to action being taken in a couple of months.
People using a glitch so that multiple people manage to sell the same pelts for profit would probably have rockstar more interested in stopping the glitch than banning people.
As for getting banned for "someone else's glitch". It has happened but only after habitual use, and probably after getting reported as the system might not detect the issue normally. By habitual use, I mean that if someone continues to use a glitch several times a week for more than two weeks, then the longer they use it, the more likely there will be a ban if they are noticed. Rockstar does not ban for single use, or accidental use when they see it was not a repeated pattern.
This is exactly what happened to me and a few others in a lobby one night. Until Rockstar admits defeat and lets us create private lobbies I'd not invest too much time grinding gear in the online portion of the game since you lose everything if they suspend your account.
