Is there any reason to buy this on Steam if I own it on the Rockstar launcher?

Dumb question.

I want this on Steam. I barely think about the Rockstar browser and have only played it a little since it came out. I enjoyed the game, but not enough to relaunch that browser to play it.

I am pretty sure if I bought this on Steam it would still end up launching the Rockstar browser. But at least I would remember to play it once in awhile.

If I bought it here, would it overwrite any progress on the other launcher? Would it effectively just add an icon to Steam, more or less? If I bought the Ultimate Edition on Rockstar but just buy the base game on Steam, is there any wonkiness?

I know this is a ridiculous question. I know I can add a non-Steam game icon to launch it - but that will not keep it updated.

Is there any reason to rebuy it?

Rockstar launcher is fine, running steam as well will cost half a frame per second.

You still open the game from the rockstar browser pretty much... It just add the game to steam library and a shortcut to the rockstar loader

Other than having it on Steam, no. Personally I just waited till it came out on Steam, not playing any of those Epic games, lol won't even touch there engine since you need to silly epic game store app to use it now.

If you brought it already, is not advisable to buy it on steam anymore since you already have the game itself, and if you did, mostly likely it will continue where you stopped.
