Low framerate on RTX 4080 Super
I'm playing on a 2K monitor. All settings maxed out. Without DLSS it rarely hits 60 FPS. I've seen people playing on 4k and getting higher framerates on lower end configurations.

CPU: Ryzen 9 5950x
RAM: 4x8GBx1R 3600mhz 16-16-16
GPU: RTX 4080 Super
Storage: PCI-E Samsung 990 Pro

All other games work very well.

maybe you have not enough vram. i heard sometime, what minimum for 4k and max graphic settings is 16 gb vram

It's RTX 4080 Super, 16 GB of VRAM, the 2nd-3rd most powerful gaming GPU in the market at this moment. Also, I'm playing on 2k (2560x1440), not 4k. Almost no background processes running (besides default Windows services), background RAM/CPU/GPU/VRAM usage is very low.

I would def check your temps on all four components also do FPS baselines. Even try and find people playing/posting video of performances using your exact specs to narrow it down. It could be a bios setting, power management setting in both NVidia and windows.

It litterally could be a million things.

What is the in-game refresh rate set at? For context, I also have a 4080 super (ryzen 7700x).

I am ultrawide (3440x1440).

Virtually all graphic setting are at Ultra (particles are at medium). With DLSS off, I see around 120-130+fps

Looks like something's wrong with MSAA. Disabled it, now I'm getting 80-120 FPS (depending on area). No V-sync, refresh rate is 120 hz, both in Windows and in the game.

...Why were you using MSAA...:steamfacepalm: ALWAYS use TAA...

Looks like in Chapter 5 I'm getting 75-80 fps on average. All settings maxed out. 2560x1440. DLSS enabled (quality mode). Is this normal on RTX 4080 Super?

You have CPU & RAM Bottleneck = performance loss.
In clear words, the 4080 can't do its job how it should because of the low performance of the other components. With low load games, this doesn't matter anyways, with high load games you will loose a mass of performance.

Also the Ryzen 9 5950 was not made for gaming, it's a multitasking CPU! In that case, lower your resolution to 1080p or you don't have to wonder about performance issues in diffrent games with an setup like this.

Maxed out and after the last chanages to the game this BNeck is bigger than calculator thinks^^ What you can try is to OC the CPU about 10-15% / 7% Ram OC and undervolt the GPU after this you should able to run the game nearly engine fps cap.

I have doubts about trusting this site. It also says that 7950x3D is too weak for 4080 Super, though it's literally the best AMD has to offer for gaming at this moment.

Budget? It's a pretty good darn CPU, and the best of the 5000 series. 4.9ghz, 64 MB L3 cache... I don't see how it's even remotely "budget". Let's stop promoting Intel monopoly.

I mean I have a not-so-new 11700k and my game runs great while having a slightly worse graphics card.

Edit: from the looks of it mine and yours should be almost identical in performance: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i7-11700K-vs-AMD-Ryzen-9-5950X/4107vs4086

So maybe you have some weird configuration with your AMD system that I don't know about.

Edit 2:

After reading this I see you're actually getting pretty normal FPS for 1440p. If you want more the most FPS-draining settings are tree tessellation on and ultra reflections.

Who ever wrote that "bottleneck" reply has zero understanding of PC technology. Funny stuff, made my beer come out of my nose while reading it.

I am a bit suspicious about all these talks about bottlenecks as well. This game does not seem to be so CPU-hungry, Especially talking about 5950x - while it is not specifically "made for gaming", a CPU is a CPU, it's most certainly not a potato, should be more than enough for games as of today...

you are unbelievably wrong about your cpu even being a gaming cpu. You should have done a lot more research. It's for office computers and should be seen as an overpriced item. If i was buying an amd cpu for gaming, I would go for a 5700 over 5950x allll day. Everyone bought into AMD being a good choice for a gaming cpu, but that is simply just not true. Yes, bottlenecks are a real thing, and people who don't understand that, are continually spreading misinformation by saying they don't exist. You definitely need a better setup if you want to start running such a game in 1440p
