Maxed out Dead eye not highlighting any areas. Is there any way to solve this issue?
So, I've been playing Read Dead Redemption 2 for a while now. Currently I'm playing as John Marston and I have already finished the whole of the epilog.
Anyway, it seems that critical spots become highlighted for other players while using Dead Eye. Even the game told me, that I now can see the organs of my targets. But I can't though.

What screen res and graphics settings?

Usually you won't see that when very far away; such as the darker red hot-spots for maybe the brain or heart when DE is activated. If far away though and looking through scope w/ DE active you should be able to see it better though.

Here is an example of using a Scoped weapon and then activating DE

I'm WQHD 3440 x 1440, I'm not sure what the issue is even when I'm up close or far there is no sort of indicator, I don't think it's a range issue I think I might need to re-download the game? Not sure what to do

Just verify the game; no need to redownload the whole game.

Using any Mods?

if you're using vulkan try changing to directx 12 and restart the game, if youre using directx12, try changing to vulkan. it worked for me.

Changing it from Vulkan to Directx 12 did work, but it makes my usual 100-110 fps drop down to 50ish oddly. I'm going to try and verify the game if I havent already and I'll check back in. Thanks for the help so far.

Alright so it shows the zones on Direct but not on Vulkan, thing is I cant really run Direct due to the constant drop in frames for no considerable reason unlike Vulcan. Is there any way to fix this issue while using Vulkan?

I tried the other idea and validated my game files, I booted it up and that didnt seem to work either

Just wipe all of the cache and graphics settings. Then go from there.

Documents > Rockstar Games > Red Dead Redemption 2 > Settings
Delete all files in here that start with SGA
Delete the System.XML file (this holds the Graphics settings)

Documents > Rockstar Games > Red Dead Redemption 2 > Profiles > YourID#
Delete all files in here that start with P except for ProfileSettings

%LocalAppData% > NVIDIA
Delete everything inside this NVIDIA folder (GPU shader cache)

NVIDIA Control Panel > Manage 3D Settings
Power Management = Prefer Max Performance
Shader Cache = Unlimited
MFAA = Disabled
Click APPLY

If you want, open your current system.xml file before deleting it; copy and paste the entire contents to Pastebin.com (make new paste), then share the link after posting it and I'll take a look. As for most GPUs, Vulkan usually does best in this game.

What does wiping all of the cache settings do?

Have you completed all the missions? You get dead eye ability's from doing story missions
Its a vulkan issue, you can switch to dx12 but i prefer the extra fps i get from using vulkan

What does it do?
Has to be some kind of error if it's not working properly. Remember it will have to take a little longer to load up as the game has to compile new gpu shader cache (black screen with gray loading bar)

Overall I've played entire game more then 3 times on PC with various RTX GPUs while set to Vulkan and didn't have any real issues. However DX12 may fair better on a few select GPUs such as some Radeon GPUs or older GTX GPUs such as GTX 9 / 10 / 16 series
