Cannot progress past Horse Flesh For Dinner

I've tried to complete this mission so many times I've lost count if it doesn't crash I can't calm the horse if I can calm it I can't lead it and if through some miracle I get past the stable section the Mission Ending cut-scene doesn't activate. does anyone have any advice how to fix this

Die, commit suicide, after 3 or so times of this the game will ask you if you want to skip ahead to the next checkpoint

you can do this for any mission glitch
