Losing ammo when failing missions in online mode
So if you fail a mission you dont go back to the amount of ammo you had before you started the mission if you select to retry... wtf?! why is this a thing??? all the guys i killed before are back so why tf wouldnt i get my ammo back too?!

I think ammo is cheap enough and we have a variety of ammo types for it to not be a problem. I guess restock and try the mission again with more consumables like health tonics and try to get a melee kill here and there.

Have been looting bodies but hardly ever get very much ammo. normally i just get like 3 cents or something dumb like that. and what does being an online game have anything to do with ammo in missions? mission checkpoints can and should easily save your ammo count. thats like saying you shouldnt have any ammo when you log back in the next day because its an online game. ammo is cheap yes but if im in the middle of a mission where i cant break away to go get ammo without starting the mission over it becomes extremely annoying.

Wait for a sale on ammo. Stock up when on sale via the catalog.
You'll always refill when you check mail.
Profit

That and don't die. That helps.

You are right that it depends on the mission thats true but youre missing the point about the who losing ammo thing. if you roll back to the start of the mission or checkpoint EVERYTHING should roll back to that point. normally i do prep for mission by going to the post office but if you go through a bunch of ammo then die you lose the value of that ammo you used. its absolutely a broken mechanic. my whole point of this was i was more curious if this was a bug with a fix or a known issue. never played a mission based game where you can roll back and be missing items you had before.

Ya i just started playing yesterday lol. I think im like lvl 13 or 14. im not complaining about the price of ammo. im complaining about losing it when you roll back to a mission checkpoint, i have never played a game where your inventory is not saved at a mission checkpoint. thats just stupid and make no sense.

So i submitted a bug report to R* and they got back to me letting me know that it is in fact a bug and is being investigated. hopefully one day it gets a fix. thought i would share in case anyone else runs into this issue.

I don't know what's the problem with the guys over here but I agree that it's ridiculous. It's absolutely ridiculous.

Manual Save BEFORE Triggering ALL Story Missions.
If Pooch is Screwed - Reload Save.

If you intend to use the 'Replay Mission Feature';
Disappointment will become very familiar to you...

Well done, thought about the same thing. Dont worry about these allknowers. I'm fighting Teddy Brown with Varmint Rifle and i had 100/100 ammo when i started. 200 revolver rounds and now im out. Have to cancel the mission, buy ammo, go to post office and then restart. :/ it sux
