Old Email Linked, no access to the game now?
so i made a burner email literal years ago to play gta with my girlfriend, her on my ps4 me on my pc. i have no clue what that email is anymore, and i guess the only way to unlink it is to log in with that email on rockstar and unlink the account? is there any way i can still play this or are all rockstar games off the table for me now

You can contact R* directly and ask for their help to do it.

Email contact without signing in -

(there's variations of this compromised account link buried around)

Else, you can create a 'new'/temporary social club account to contact them with through various other links, not just compromised account. Obviously, YMMV.

i couldnt find any way to submit an actual support ticket, i even tried to call their new york office but i couldnt get a person on the phone at all. all i could find was useless "help" pages that didnt actually solve anything

I share your frustration. I also spent ages trying to find a way to lodge a support ticket - it's almost impossible, as you say. I finally did (I just clicked through so many possible choices on the support page that I found one that led to creating a ticket) - and now Rockstar have replied saying that I have to supply them with the name of the old account (which I can't remember) and also that I will be unable to play GTAV if I do unlink the old account. I actually bought RDR2 *again* today, because it was unrecoverable when the launcher started glitching out years ago.

I am struggling with this and cannot get any sort of help from either rockstar or steam. It's like once they sell you the game, you are screwed to figure it out and hope you can play the game

I cannot fathom how a multi-million dollar company thought it would be a good idea to lock steam accounts to Rockstar accounts, and it ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ you over if you change one of your emails or forget your password. It's so incredibly aggravating to deal with too. I'm seriously considering refunding since I can't even play the game.

I've refunded and I'm just not going to play the game again. Don't forget - that launcher started glitching out badly a few years ago - the web was full of user complaints about losing content, not being able to log in, not being able to recover games *that they'd already bought and played*. That was when I just forgot about RDR2 - I couldn't play it anymore because of the Rockstar Launcher problems. Then - when it finally hit Steam, I thought - what a great game, I should have another adventure with it. But - I couldn't get it back. Even though I'd bought it, played it, etc. It's really not ok. But Rockstar don't care.

Guys I learned the solution! You need to get Nightlight Game Launcher from GitHub. Once you have it installed, just copy the file path to RDR2 into the path bar. Then, you need to download the RDR2 modules (just click the "install modules" button on the program). Afterwords, hit start game, and if that doesn't work, look for the launcher in your game files. Here's a video that shows exactly what to do, it seems shady but it's safe: https://youtu.be/dcdWfy4k98s?si=i7OvqzlaKNGAKUDo
