screenspace shadows fix?
I did not encounter a similar problem on an old PC (or just did not see it). On the new PC, the shadows around the edges of the screen are cut off and I do not know what to do with it. I changed all the settings that I could, it doesn't help. Is this how the game should work, or can it be fixed?

Open C:\Users\<username>\Documents\Rockstar Games\Red Dead Redemption 2\Settings\system.xml and change value at string <directionalScreenSpaceShadowQuality value="1.000000" /> to 0.0

Then try to change long shadows setting to low, then it will become less noticeable, while nothing much will change in the quality of the picture. Or check this https://www.nexusmods.com/reddeadredemption2/mods/4627

I love how poeple like OP not giving feedback if the issue got solved so that future ppl having the same issue still dont know the possible solution.

Really great from someone who received help not to help others. Love it.

I reduced the long shadows and the problem became less visible, but it still exists. Plus, there were flickering shadows not only on the edges of the screen, especially it catches the eye in chapter 5. I don't want to use the Nexus mod, since it just sticks the camera to the character, but does not solve the problem.
I already thought that the game should work like this, but my friend has almost the same PC as me and he doesn't have such a problem. I don't know what to do with it anymore.

Me too, I have the same problem, but at least with a reduced long shadows it is less noticeable. I've resigned myself to it and play like this, I couldn't find another solution on the internet, apparently the problem is in the game, and what resolution are you playing in?

I play 1080p, but for the sake of experiment I tried to turn on 1440p and 2160p, the problem does not go away.
In the end, I also resigned myself and just play as it is.
