how do i beat tommy?

hello,
i cant beat this random fist fight. this guy starts choking me but i cant do anything. the game displays that i have to press f, but nothing happens, i just die

Block a lot:

Block the first hit, then he will try and hit you 3 times, after blocking those; hit hit hit.

When you get the prompt that you should press "F" then either mash it depending on how you have your settings ofc, but default is mashing.

Mash mash mash, repeat hitting and blocking.
Eventually the fight turns and you start beating him a new nose form.....

(Btw: if I am correct, then after a few fails, you get the option to skip the entire fight/mission)

Weird, i died like 10 times and didnt get the option. Well i realised that i pressed F to fast when tommy startet choking. I pressed f slow and it instantly worked. Didnt change any settings

nice, well, you got it. Congrats!
It's all a bit random sometimes, most missions will give you the option to skip after a few fails, and some it seems no, don't.

What I did was go to settings and changed the "mash" button to "hold" button.
In that case you can just hold the "F" in future fights.
(Just to make fights a little simpler and save your keyboard from mashing the living sh&t out of it in frustration....(like I did one day :P )
