That being said.
Could you be more specific with your crash?
Did you try directX or did you play on Vulkan only?
Is there something specific or unique that happens when it crashes?
Right now i know of one serious issue causing crashes. And its clash between Rockstar and Steam Overlay.
Rockstar has added full screen overlay to the game. Includes variety of stuff.
It suppresses it self to a degree when steam overlay is active but not good enough, Because on any achievement popup game will crash.
Only solution i found for the named problem is to disable Steam overlay for this game.
You should play at max settings with that card without any issues.
I am on 7800XT with everything cranked up -including all "unlocked settings*- (DirectX).--Note: when you switch to directX you need to restart the game---
Single player has no crashes at all. Multiplayer can crash sometimes (known issues)
This was very helpful. Im going to try it out. I did try directX and not vulkan as many alredy mention.
Any ide or what plattform I should run the game.
And the crash is just a standard crash, you get a pop up error code or message and it shuts down.
What do you mean which platform? You mean OS?
What error do you get as popup? What does it says in error?
Is this the error? https://i.imgur.com/okcuF9z.png
or something else?
That crash is overlay overruns memory of the gpu because of conflict , not actual low memory. Game only uses ~7gb vram out of 16
"enable steam overlay" on the right. Turn it off

You can also turn off Rockstar desktop notifications for good measure.
Launch rockstar app and turn off in options
so I manage to play the game not through steam, I don't know if thats make any difference. But like I said, 2-4 minutes after I launch the story mode, everything freezes. Like the game is still running but you can't do anything, everyone is just not doing anything. I'm still o the first chapter. I just tried it again.... I just got mad at this game.
im not PC expert, the reason why I bought a high end pc is just to avoid these kind of craps.
That doesnt sound good. I dont think i can help here man.
You need some serious hardware check.
As quick help, maybe try with new clean system ?
If that doesnt help it would be like some hardware issue, what about those 'famous' 12power pins on 4090 that people say they melt and cause problems
How about downloading some gpu software benchmark tools that would push ur gpu to limmits?
3dmark on steam has free demo can run timespy will stress cpu and gpu.
also Furmark
Did not work
