Account lost

I have Red Dead Redemption 2 in my Steam library but my Rockstar account is definitively lost. Can I still play and how and if not, can I buy it again on steam to link it to a new Rockstar account ? Thank you.

The game requires the Rockstar Launcher and a Rockstar account. Said account is liked to your Steam account. If you can't get your account back the other way to play is to create a new Steam account, new Rockstar account and rebuy the game.

Rockstar has the absolute worst customer service people I have ever dealt with in my entire life. It is insultingly poor, they don't actually read what you say nor communicate properly. I opened 7 different support tickets and not a single one actually bothered to read what I said and ignored me, 2 even closed the tickets on me without resolving anything. This has happened to a few of my friends and I don't know anyone that got their account back.

Check your steam account purchase history
find valid purchase receipt on your account/Contact support with a digital copy of desktop display information of purchase while logged into your steam account.

Best way is too just hold PRINT SCREEN key/(On your Keyboard)

Then open paint or any compatible image app and just paste and save in Jpeg and send too support.

You should be-able to regain access
if its linked too your steam account
with the correct information provided to support if your claims are valid and not fraudulent.
They should help you reset the account with proof of purchase, banking transaction information regarding the purchase date improves the odds after a real employee responds.

It doesnt help that they make it difficult to find the support chat
