Yeah, I just thought because I logged into R* social and there was a setting in-game to enable could saves that they would transfer to any platform I logged into my R* account with. Like it seems odd it can transfer save files within the same platform family but not across platforms if the cloud save is through the publisher and not the platform itself (ie my save game isn’t with PSN or PS+, it’s with R*, and I can log into my R* account on both PSN and PC devices).
I can accept there might be technical reasons why it isn’t that way but it seems the same to me, from the end user side, as logging into my CDPR account for Cyberpunk and Witcher or my Larian account for Baldur’s Gate. Hell, I’ve been doing this across PC and Switch since 2020 with Hades, so it’s surprising Rockstar/Take-Two can’t pull it off. Or won’t, more likely.
I get why they don’t for their online games but for just my single player saves, it seems weird, and at this point I’m still in the return window for my Steam copy and I’m debating refunding it since I’d be starting from scratch otherwise, so why not just stick with my PlayStation game exclusively.
