Hmm good to know. I have not seen this yet. Try running Task Manager before launching such stuff. And in Task Manager go to Services and sort by name so A is at top, then sort so all services Running are at the top, then scroll down and see if Windows Error Reporting is already running, if so, stop it. Launch the Rockstar Launcher via Right Click > Run As Admin (it shouldn't have ANY extra options enabled in Properties > Compatibility) and then look and see if Windows Error Reporting starts back up all on its own after this app launch.
Flush all GPU Shader Cache.
People seem to think that the SGA files the game makes in its Documents folder are it, no. Amd and Nvidia Shader Cache (at driver level) will make exclusive and larger sized Shader cache here > %LocalAppData%
There will be either an AMD or NVIDIA folder here per the GPU you use. Inside that folder will be a folder based around the cache being made from DX or GL (Vulkan)
Try wiping this out after you have made changes to game graphics settings to ensure all Shader cache gets recreated fresh again next game launch. See if that helps with such issues.
This can also happen when nearing your max system RAM or GPU VRAM limits as well.
The updates would have to have happened already. Two ways but it would auto update both. The game on Steam does an update in order to provide users with the latest bundled Rockstar Launcher that each Rockstar Game would include in the game files. Also when you would have launched the game or the Rockstar Launcher the Launcher would then have auto updated. When it does this kind of update its very small, like under 200MB so if your PC and Internet are fast enough you probably just never noticed the auto update occurred
- Go to 'Settings'
- Go to 'Graphics'
(at the bottom, hold the button for 'Run Benchmark')
* Note: This does not show up for RDO-only players. You must also have the base game.

The more attention they receive about this, hopefully the faster it will be fixed.
I can take RDR2.EXE and set it to say 2 or 4 cores to force lower CPU usage and the Keyboard Lag still there. Course on many CPUs that wouldn't make for a very playable game though and I'm glad CPU usage alone is not the problem. The actual lag is not in the game controls, so you won't experience it while controlling your player, horse, going through your satchel, vendor menus, etc. ~ rather how the SocialClub DLLs and Overlay that are active during the gameplay running are affecting other things, such as going back to OS Desktop or going into Steam Overlay and typing anything at all, there is ridiculous keyboard delays; UNTIL the work-around is done, which is quick and simple, but yes still a pain since it will need to be done every time you load up GTAV or RDR2 as a means to temp fix the keyboard lag issues. Not sure how or why it clears it up, but it does work. I've done it in both games now at least 20-30 times each game and it works every time. As long the game remains open you'll be fine.
