How do I change the name displaying on my character back to what it was when I created him?

Pretty self-explanitory really. I created my first and only character last week and it stayed that for two days, but then on day three, someone, somewhere, somehow, my character name was changed to me Steam account username. I don't know if Steam, Valve Corp, or Rockstar Games did it, but how do I change it back to the name I WANT?

Steam doesn't have anything to do with your displayed name, usually your in-game name is your rockstar social club username.
You can edit that here, but it does have a cooldown, can't remember how long.

It never uses your in-game character name, it always uses your Rockstar Account Name.

Yeah, it's not even the Rockstar account name, but the one you use for your display name in the Social Club. It took me a time to figure that out since I hadn't been there in at least five years.

Well Rockstar account name really is your email address; so yea it obviously would not use that, but uses the name you have set for your Profile Screen-name within the SocialClub account. You can edit it once every 6-12 months if memory serves me correct.

Cool Down for changing your Character name is 365 days. Changed mine 10 days in because no one could pronounce it... lol
