Unless things have changed for Rockstar when it comes to the cause of the Ban.
If that happens then be aware that saying it wasn't your fault & that it was your friend / family members fault that they were the ones that went online & that it wasn't you, that Excuse will not help you one bit.
Just FYI
I used the modded version to play LSPDR.
What I did was create a new installation, copy that entire folder, named the folder "not playing" or something like that. Then, when I wanted to switch, I would rename the folder I was playing to something else "not playing_1" and rename the "not playing" folder to the default folder name.
Drive space is not an issue for me, so your mileage may very. But you can easily pick up a cheap 2TB or whatever USB plug in SSD and keep the folder you aren't playing on that if space is an issue.
Ban like you can never play online anymore or one of those red messages on your steam profile similiar to vac bans?
Playing Online can lead into a ban if you have other mod .dll's or other files of the mods that don't belong in the original game.
Online is fine and fun with friends. Public Sessions are the problem.
Don't play on Public Sessions.
Blame the player instead of the game. What a toxic way of thinking.
