Has anyone found the treasure maps without resorting to a YouTube walk thru?
I was trying to solve the Jack Hall Gang treasure map challenge. There are 3 maps that will lead you to the 2 gold bars. It was nearly impossible. I spent nearly an hour trying to figure out the locations. It just amounted to a TON of frustration. I had the same issue when I killed Flaco Hernandez, and you get the poisonous trail treasure map. There are also 3 maps that need to be discovered. I couldn't even find one without resorting to a YouTube walkthru. But that is me...

I get it. Rock Star is keeping it real. IRL, you wouldn't get clues, etc. I just feel like Rock Star could had made a few compromises. Keep it real, but give some clues. Not just a picture that we need to look at over many times to get an idea where the map might be. This is a HUGE world, and I don't have many hours to play this game to find the maps. Nor would I want to dedicate so much time. Thank god for the YouTube walkthrus.

I hated to use the walkthrus, but I did it anyway. Were you able to find the maps on your own, or did you resort to a walkthru like me? Am I missing something?

I had two that I couldn't find and that was the Poisonous Trail 2 map and the one near fort Wallace I think. The one with the snakey image. I thought it would be near Rhodes where you go fishing with Javier but it turned out to be a totally different landmark lol.

The rest of them I kind of stumbled upon the landmarks shown in the maps. I do have a good memory for pictures so maybe that helped me recognize them. Most of the places the treasures are at are locations the story will lead you to somehow: like the caves near the poisonous mine and the face shaped rock near Rhodes.

The things i had to find out through walkthroughs were the trinkets! I'd never ever have found them on my own lol. I found exactly one in my first playthrough and that was the one on the islands near Clemens cove. I was so happy when i found the Iguanas there I figured the other islands might also have weird wildlife but I found the trinket instead.

Also the last 5 of the indian wind chimes and the last 5 or so of the bones. I did play really slowly though, I think I had 300 hours when I started looking up things to try and 100%. Ofcourse I missed one of the guns (the one in the mission with Trelawny in Rhodes)
