dinput8.dll crashes my game
I am modding for my first time my RDR2 game and I saw a couple of tutorials that explain how to download and install the mods. I am quite experienced at modding my games but this time I bought RDR2 especifically to play the whole thing with mods because I already had played it in my PS4. The thing is that when I install the scripthook WITH the dinput8.dll my game crashes in the first loading screen that pops up when you load to your game but if I don't put the dinput8.dll my game works but the mods aren't loaded. I also have installed the lml but the mods that can be loaded there they also do not work. I want to use Rampage Trainer but without the scripthook it won't work (obviously).

Here is a list of a few "solutions" that I saw around on Reddit and Steam (I have the game on Rockstar not Steam btw) but didn't work for me:

-Replacing the dinput8.dll with a version.dll renamed as dinput8.dll (in this one the game says something like "it's not able to find the dinput8.dll archive" or smth like that)

-Using the version.dll instead of dinput8.dll

-Using Alexander Blade's Scripthook updated

-Using Rage ScripthookRDR2 V2 from nexus mods

-Using both dinput8.dll and version.dll at the same time

-Installing a generic dinput8.dll from DLL-files

I would be very thankful if someone knew what to do because I am completely lost, I really want to mod my game but it's being a very difficult experience tbh.

"if I don't put the dinput8.dll my game works but the mods aren't loaded."

This reads as if you stuffed a bunch of mods into the game folder already. I'd remove ALL non-vanilla files. Only then - try dinput8.dll, and scripthook - test. If it works, only install 1 additional mod at a time, and test. There is a very real potential that one of the mods is causing the issues. You may also have .log files in your rdr2 folder that you can peek at for info. There's also cases of antivirus/security causing issues with mods, but I'd do the above first.

I've faced the same problem and soleved it by downloading latest version of scripthook from oficial site: https://www.dev-c.com/rdr2/scripthookrdr2/. On NexusMods you will find older versions! This is the reason why it did'n work. You'd try it too. There is info on this site wich version of the game are supports of.
Not sure if you figured it out yet but I had the same issue while trying all of the methods I’ve seen, I resolved it by putting the online content unlocker all the way to the bottom in LML, It can be found in the mod manager.
