My game keeps randomly closing
The game will just unexpectedly close to desktop. I've tried everything, I've searched everywhere. I've added certain launch options, I've removed them, I've updated all drivers, i'm changed resolutions, I've added "graphic tools" in Windows. I've re-installed the game on a different hard drive. Sometimes the game will just freeze, i'm able to walk around but can't interact in the environment then it will just crash to desktop. I'm really fed up with this.

I don't know what to do. Sometimes the game will run fine for hours then suddenly it just starts doing this crash to desktop thing. I don't know what else I can do to fix it. I don't even know why i'm posting this because I feel nothing will fix it. I guess i'm just venting and looking for a last hope before i give up playing the game for good. It usually happens right when i'm about to complete a mission so i end up playing the same mission multiple times and a lot of the time, it's happening in Saint Denis.

I just want to relax and play the game. Why can't it just work properly?

Does it give you an error message or anything? If not, try moving all of your .ini and .asi files along with all of the LML files from your directory. Try re-downloading LML to see the names of all of the files. Start it without mods and experiment until you can identify the troublemaker. Best of luck to you, RDR2 modding is no joke.

Go to Red Dead Redemption 2 on steam > Properties > Installed Files and click "Verify Integrity of Game Files" It'll install files that were crucial to running the game.

No it doesn't ever give an error message. Not one time. Also, I don't use mods whatsoever. Where would i find those files? in steam app/RDR2?

I've done that probably 3 times. I"m telling you, if there's supposedly a fix, i've done it. That's why i'm hoping maybe there's something i haven't done such as deleting the files you mentioned

Just like i thought, no hope

It may be a graphics issue.

Turn your graphics down to low and see how you get on. Water, mirrors and volumetrics take a high toll I think but I'm not very knowledgeable regarding all that.

If the game runs fine for a few hours then begin turning things back up bit by bit.

no mods, on line mode, graphics up to date, properties updated on steam, all three of us played and all three of us crashed at the very same time and this has happened multiple time

I have the same problem. Tried everything I could find on this issue. Nothing works. Sometimes I can play for hours, sometimes just 15 minutes. No error message, it just shuts down.

I only play story mode as of right now. I played multiplayer on PS4 years ago but I have no desire to play online mode at this time. Yeah, so its only story mode.

I tried adjusting resolutions and refresh rates, nothing solved the problem

I turned everything to low and/or off and still experienced the same issues.

You never mentioned what graphics you are running, but I would suggest trying an older version of the driver.

However before that the easiest thing to try is to change your graphics API, go to the graphics settings, scroll down to advanced then unlock it, then change it from dx12 to Vulkan or vice versa.
