How to make money fast in early game?

So i just got into this game and has recently found out that I can unlock a fast travel after investing in the ledger for like $500. Now, is there anyway I could get money fast in this game? aside from doing the main missions of course. Thank you for reading!

There is a gold bar very near camp in chapter two. I learned about it when I looked up how to unlock fast travel; there was an article on how to get the $550 right away.

The 1st time I played I finished the game with a little over 2k but this try at the game I have over 5k in cash and only just moved to the 2nd camp spot at Clemens Cove aanndd I've also killed the legendary panther, achieved about 85% of the challenges and gotten all that's needed for all the satchels to be crafted so I had the legendary satchel allowing me to carry 99 of most items. Don't bother with the main mission and play more free roaming hunting legendary animals (fish too) and finding all the other things from treasures to fossils to cave carvings (first find those that offer those side quests.) Try this map, https://rdr2map.com/, to find every thing. Walk with the 2 horses follow more than riding them cos it'll give you more of a chance to find plants, and also gives an easier chance to kill whatever attacks you instead of being on a spooked horse. There are a few enemy bases you take on in later missions and that kills off all the enemy at the base for good, but until you do those missions you can constantly raid those enemy bases over and over looting the dead and filling the legendary satchel then sell the loot. Also have a 2nd horse to follow you while you're on your 1st horse so you can carry more carcasses. That poor guy that is looking at his horse's hoof and then gets kicked to death has a great horse you can use as a 2nd horse to follow you. But any saddled horse will do which you can find easily every time you get attacked by enemy on or with horses (just ride them until they become a 2nd horse).

Ah, I see... This seems like the easiest and fastest way to unlock the fast travel. Thanks a lot for this! Super helpful tip!

save 10 gold and go buy bounty for the bounty boards, they take maybe 5 minutes and pay range from $30-60 sometimes more, its 2x till march 2

go to internet find the treasure maps in story mode they are stupid and you cannot figure out the map pieces ya get in a million years where the treasure is you have to go to the internet to find out how to peace the map pieces together and then where to go on the map and how to even find the pieces in the first place .. peace out .

there are markers that have locations of gold. If you want to avoid spoilers, make sure the "Grave" option is turned off. trust me, just make sure you do that and don't be tempted to enable them.
