Missing Horse?
I HAD the white Arabian, left her at horseshoe camp while exploring on another horse. I caught a third horse to use as a pack animal and now the Arabian is no where to be found, not at camp or at the stable. Is this horse now lost for good? PC edition if that makes a difference.

Yes I bonded with the pack animal as they seem not to follow if not bonded. Hopefully the Arabian will respawn in the original area after some time so I can get her again.

The one you get up near that lake is a female.

You have learned the same lesson that every man has to learn on his own, we can't seem to learn from the same mistakes made for centuries over and over.

And that mistake is.....

Ignore your wife and your horse at your own peril.

And if you compound that mistake by consorting with another female WHILE ignoring the original, do not be surprised when they take a hike.

At least with the horse you can just move on and find another without worrying about the first one.

It's a clean break. You should actually smile knowing you're free to begin a new relationship without looking over your shoulder, you don't have to worry about lawyers, alimony, getting your tires slashed, harassing drunken phone calls at 3 a.m., etc. etc,.

The Arabian disappeared because you went and bonded with another "extra" horse. You can only bond with 2x extra horses like that when it's done basically side by side in the same area. As really only 1 out of the 2 would follow you. The way around this is, lets say you still had the Arabian bonded (but not owned onto the Stables), you get on the Arabian and move out away from Camp, then call your owned Horse w/ H key. That horse will of course follow. Staying on the Arabian (or extra bonded horse) in order to keep it from running off on you. If you reach a point where you would like to bond with a 2nd extra horse, you can, however this is tricky because the game will not save this kind of a status with that extra horse. When you bond with a 2nd horse to be used to store a large animal or large pelt that only fits on the horses' backside. To keep either extra horse from running off you ride one of the extra horses, then use Lasso to keep a hold of the 2nd extra horse and have it follow you. Using H key to make your owned horse follow you. Once you get all 3 back to Camp, let go of the Lasso and tether the horse to a post with E key. Then quickly jump on the 2nd extra horse and do the same. Now Pierson / Butcher / Trapper will not be able to see an animal/pelt available for trade/sale when it's on an extra horse like this, so you will need to take that animal/pelt in-hand and walk up to such NPC table in order to trade/sell it. It will see the stuff on your owned horse.

If you notice when bonded with 2 extra horses, only one will get an icon for it on your Radar/Map. If you wish to save an extra bonded horse (such as the Arabian) without putting in Stables, then ensure you mount and pet/calm that horse again before moving on using just your owned horse. If the extra horse is left at Camp, do not bond with another horse away from Camp or the 1st one will disappear.

I'm sure it worked exactly the same in the old west :steammocking:
Have several family pics with main horse and 3 pack horses and they never seemed to evaporate when left in camp.
That's what I get for attempting to apply real world logic to a video game.

Thank you for the info, I will stable spares in the future.

Theres another really awesome looking Arabian Horse in the mountains slightly north west of Wapiti Reservation by the way, if you dont want to trek back up to the snow mountains any time soon that is.

But the White Arabian will spawn again where you first found her

Yes but you only have 3 spaces in the Stable. Not counting 1 space for a permanent horse. While the game has many good horses. I really don't understand why they didn't provide more options. Like each Stable being it's own, instead of shared. In GTA Online I can go get plenty more garage space, but not in RDR2. Such a sham

Another thing in story mode there is a mission at the beginning where you go on the bear hunt and this opens up the stables if you get a horse and have I think two horses ... spoiler alert .. for example the guy you see shoeing his horse out in the story world this is a great horse and if you get this horse and have two horses then you go on the bear hunt you may loose a good horse .. .the bear hunt opens up the stables ...

Typical Rockstar they let you do things that can mess you up they should not let you get another horse at all period until the stable opens up ... the bear hunt stable open up mission should be the only mission you can do and you should do it first .. they should force you to do this mission so you get the fire grate the stable opens up then you can tame horses and stuff ...

I am discovering Rockstar allows you to screw your self in many ways. I accidentally sold the gold ear rings you need to craft the boars tusk trinket and now the second location they are supposed to be found at only has a ring.

Yeah the entire concept of using this item to make the trinket is now impossible ... They are in a lot of ways complete idiots.

That;s who you are supposed to sell them to. Once you sell him the rest of the needed items, the Talisman in question will be ready to Craft.
