Finished RDR2 and now wanting to play RDR1..

Unfortunately RDR1 is not so easy to play in 2024 , Especially since i am PC only ...

But now the question is.. would i get away with watching a youtube video with all of the cutscenes from RDR1 perhaps to simply know the story or will that not help me understand the whole story .. Thanks

Dang I coulda sworn I saw mention of a PC release for RDR1. Musta been a false memory or a dream. R* could make a pile of cash selling it as a cheap port. It's a great game.

If you have a console already and can get a copy it's definately worth playing. May not be as pretty but it's nowhere near as clunky feeling as rdr2 and it doesn't have super annoyimg selective realism that rdr2. In a lot of ways it's a quality of life improvement over rdr2. The side-stuff is generally fun on the whole as opposed to rdr2's side-stuff generally feeling like a slog with little payoff until the epilogue. I personally enjoy the gameplay much more in rdr1 and the story is almost as good as rdr2.

The first one is "I know You", it's a mission that lets the player do a couple of moral choices, so thankfully there are videos showing the small changes those choices make:

The other one is the actual final mission of the game (yes, it's a stranger mission), so the person you're watching may end up playing it after all. In any case, only watch this after the end of the playthrough:
