Finished RDR2 and now wanting to play RDR1..
Unfortunately RDR1 is not so easy to play in 2024 , Especially since i am PC only ...

But now the question is.. would i get away with watching a youtube video with all of the cutscenes from RDR1 perhaps to simply know the story or will that not help me understand the whole story .. Thanks

Those come with alot of performance issues though i heard , i suppose it could be worth taking out the old PS3 and play it on there?

Depending on your pc, it will run way better than on an old ps3. There are a couple of tutorials on youtube just for RDR1.

Watching it and playing it will not be the same, I highly highly suggest you find a way to play it. Its an amazing game and well worth the play thru

NO! We must keep it a PS3 exclusive. How else are we going to keep selling them?

I mean, it has never been easier to play it, since you can do it in every modern console now, but that's besides the point.
As for whether you should play, I would say yeah just because it's a really fun game, but you can get the full story from watching cutscenes, as long as there are two very important Stranger Missions among those cutscenes. Well, only one is really important, but the other one is interesting too. And as for emulation, Switch emulation is better than PS3 emulation, so you could have better luck trying your legally obtained copy of RDR1 with that...

A simple way to determine how woefully idiotic Rockstar is would be to realize how stupid they are to have not come out with RD1 on PC.

The first one is "I know You", it's a mission that lets the player do a couple of moral choices, so thankfully there are videos showing the small changes those choices make:

The other one is the actual final mission of the game (yes, it's a stranger mission), so the person you're watching may end up playing it after all. In any case, only watch this after the end of the playthrough:
