Social Club & Rockstar Account is the same & is not 2 different things ( As in two accounts for 1 game ), sort out your account info so you can play RDR2 correctly.

You own a license for rdr2 on steam and not on the rockstar ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ club which makes it so you have to launch it through steam and then their launcher to actually start the game.
Games for windows live has evolved.

@op - Very possible the email 'on' your social club account is all that 'changed'. You can also test this by logging into the social club website, and seeing if your games appear there, as well as online characters/stats --- and the bigger one - that your steam account IS linked to that social club account in the linked accounts tab. If it is not - that is the problem.

Then, you check your email inboxes to see if R* sent you an email saying --- the email on the social club account has changed. It may be spam/filtered. It may be in another language, and has a link to recover the account yourself. Otherwise, you'll need to contact R* to recover.

Loads of info / more links, etc-

/goodluck - some fix this in hours, others take days/weeks.

I'm able to install the game from Rockstar Game Launcher ( Downloaded from Rockstar ) & install the game as well, so i can install it from steam or Rockstar if i like. Least i did last time i installed it again after uninstalling the game in order to install another SSD Drive.
