Stuttering in menus
This one's a bit weird. The game runs fine for me and things seem smooth enough in game.

But the in-game menus (ESC and everything after that) all have this weird stutter. It's as if the menu animations don't play at a constant speed.

Anyone else experienced something like this? It's not a big deal, so I can probably ignore it, but it'd be nice to have that working too.

First off are you running anything while playing RDR2 & 2nd did you install the game on an SSD or Disk Drive ? If in Disk Drive then that would explain it but if it's in the SSD then make sure that nothing is running in the background while playing the game.

Like Music Player or Recorder or some 3rd party software.......stuff like that.

And yeah this does NOT include Windows Software, just stuff like Messenger or another App besides Steam & RDR2 While playing.

Sometimes Windows Optimization run's & a scheduled & one just needs to make sure to set it to only run in 30 days or times you normally arnt that active on the PC while gaming.

Nope, nothing that would be draining. Well, other than Steam and R* Social Club which are required. And the game's on an SSD.

But even if it WASN'T on an SSD I'd still find it weird. Again, it's not the game proper (that's all nice and smooth) - it's JUST the menus.

Hmm i'll have to pay more attention to when i'm messing with the menus to see if it's just you having the issues OR if it's an issue with the game atm cause i also have the game installed on my SSD.

I'm having the exact same issue. The game runs perfectly fine and smooth but as soon as I hit the ESC key and the menu appears it begins to stutter like crazy. The lag and delay are all over the place when I try to navigate the menu. I opened the MSI afterburner as well and the frametime is all over the place. I also noticed that if I open the map through the menu it also lags but when I hit the M shortcut it works fine. I tried running at different refresh rates and fullscreen/windowed modes but it won't go away. Installed on NVME M2 drive.

I fixed mine by enabling NVIDIA ReBAR. Check yours. When I got the ReBAR running, it fixed that kind of lagging in menu. RDR2 is one of the listed games that improves with ReBAR.

Ryzen 7 5700x3d, RTX 3070, 32gb, 1tb nvme.

Thanks, but in my PC this was already enabled

Just add rdr2 in nvidia control panel and set max fps to 120. Gta5 same max 120fps. You're welcome
