HDR in RDR2 on PC is buggy. I can't get mine to work unless I play in either; Fullscreen+DX12(looks way too bright in borderless)
or
Borderless+Vulkan, with "vulkan present method" changed to "prefer layered on DXGI Swapchain" in Nvidia control panel.

You also need to have HDR turned on in your monitor/screen settings, as well as in windows display settings, and may need to adjust gamm/brightness/contrast/hue to not make bright parts too blown-out.

There is an HDR option but it only appears once you've got all the other parts set up right like I mentioned.

Just start the game in Fullscreen and there will be an option in the graphic settings.
Change HDR setting from movie to game for the best experience.

No, that's your system which is buggy, played this on several PC's. Make sure HDR is enabled on Windows (not auto HDR) then enable it in game, works on DX12/Vulkan/Fullscreen/Borderless

My system is fine and many people have posted the same issues with this game's HDR before on here and other places such as reddit, this is the only game with HDR support that gives me those issues.

Fullscreen+DX12 worked for me. Thanks!
