[Question] Buy another copy on steam

Hello, I already have rdr2 on Rockstar Games Launcher and would like to buy another copy on steam, is this possible?
I saw that apparently if we bought it on steam, the linked rockstar account removes the "old rdr2" (with the saves) from their launcher to replace it with the steam version (and our online character is also deleted) . Can you confirm me? Thank you.

I have the full game here on steam and have an epic games online only version. I needed two social accounts with two different emails to load and play each one. Also had to download the entire game for each account as I couldn't figure out how to tell one platform "look I have all the files here already so use those."

I probably didn't answer your question, but I have two online characters I can use, each needing their own social account to play.

you need one social club account per copy of the game, one social club account per steam account

My Steam account is linked in Social Club settings and cannot be removed. that might be a problem, right? Do I need a second steam account? (sorry I try to understand).

If you want completely fresh rdr2 account/online character then you need all new accounts. If you want to keep progression of your online char for steam, then use same accounts.

I asked to Rockstar Support and they told me I didn't need to create a new Steam or Rockstar account.

No, they didn't ask me.
Their response :
"If you purchase the Red Dead Redemption 2 on the same Steam account linked to the Social Club account, it will not affect the game or the progress you have made. Hope this clarifies your problem."

i brought it a second time when i originally had it on the rockstar launcher. I first had it on that, then i brought it on steam but all my data was saved and i still had everything when i launched the game via steam.

oh your story gets saved too but you can reset it
