Can anyone help me with a Contracts Mod mission?

I just started a 2nd playthrough after a couple of years. I am starting this one with Mods that I gathered from my first run right off the bat. So I have the Bounties Mod and the Contracts Mod. This mission is from the Contracts Mod.

FYI, I have just started Chapter 2 and completed Who is Not Without Sin.

I got this contract in Valentine at the Saloon around the corner from the Gun Smith. I am to find and eliminate the bounty hunter. I go to the marker (which, oddly enough, is right next to our camp in Horseshoe Overlook) and the marker disappears and I'm told the Bounty Hunter is in the area and track him down. Uhhh, WHAT?!!! I have tried Focus and there is nothing. I picked up an unknown trail and followed it to a fox. UUUUuugh!! So I left the area and the mission marker showed up again. When I returned, I get the same track him down message but WTF?!!

Does anyone know what the heck I'm missing here?
