What the situation so far with Mods?
I haven't played the game so far for lack of time, yes stupidly enough, and I wanted to play with a list of mods that for me are fundamental, like Longer days (which has received a recent update which I am not gonna install) or stuff like Peg damage (with f2-f7 "on" at the start) and many others: see here https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=3173936180

Anyway I wanted to ask, despite there is no support for mods (I also noticed with a bit of worry and alarm the recent messages that rockstar launcher pushes on the screen saying to verify integrity and so on because the game will not accept mods or that you can incur in a ban if you play online with them on, which I don't and will not do as I would be already satisfied with playing a finite single player experience.. for several reasons I won't explain now to avoid digressions).

So again, have you people any news on mods? Do they work? You can see the list and for me at least 10 of them are really irrevocable stuff.
I will play it with joypad and also I will play it role playing and as a good guy mainly as the game can be played in different ways TPP, FPP, both, and then average joe, bad joe, good cow boah, I will go for 99% FPP and good guy ...

I love hyper realism and so I chose to put the mods that have less or no issues in the comments and where modders where available... I really hope that Rockstars or nothing else will get in the middle and break it... if it's not already "broken" not allowing to progress further with some mods on.

I know that it's very hard to identify what is wrong, especially if one doesn't have much time nor experience in bug search and mod fixing ...

I hope you can give some advise or news on the status of mod use in RDR2.

I play no HUD for immersion purposes. I have anyway a full manual of commands and things you can do (this https://www.reddit.com/r/reddeadredemption2/comments/9uagl8/useful_things_i_wish_i_knew/ one is a must know for everyone: as it's very important in order to achieve the max immersion in the game)...

Looking forward for some tips.
I have always read that using last .asi loader or lml scrip etc is not always the best idea, sometime leaving what works is a good thing (just like with GPU drivers or BIOS is as with many things in life: keep using something that works if it works and it's not "too out of date").

Of course I am talking about the original game, I do not support use of non original versions. I mod just because I think vanilla should have pushed further and not limit itself for compatibility and stability as it cannibalizes the value of the game for efficiency reasons I do not share.

Mods work fine. For them to work you need LML, Scripthook V2 or Blake's Scripthook (personally prefer), ASI loader (version.dll) or dinput8. Also there is Ragehook which is a plugin loader for the RDRDFR mod.

Mods will not get you banned as long as you use them only in singleplayer (well even online mods rarely get you banned, but don't do it as it spoils others fun).

I would recommend enhanced needs mod (it makes you need to eat, drink and pee), longer nights, buyable properties, Jobs enhanced (you can work for living in the game), bank mod (you put money in the bank and can get loans), open all interiors (you can enter locked buildings), seats (lets you sit in any seat on the map), smoking complete (allows you to walk around with cigarette or cigar in your mouth) and no invisible sniper (if you play as Arthur you can go to blackwater and new austin without an invisible boundary/sniper killing you).

I would also recommend Injury mod (it makes you gain injuries when hurt or shot), enable swimming (so you don't drown when swimming), drag npcs (if you're being bad, you can drag npcs across the floor by their head), crime law (so you can do certain crimes without ai police coming out of nowhere) and Why Em's DLC (Preferably Why Em's + EEEE merge).
Hey thank you. I have jotted down some ideas from your suggestions. Most of the stuff is included in the mod list (around 25 i have loaded) but will have to play some hours to see the status unfortunately most of the stuff requires a few hours to reach the "free roaming" of the first chapter...
(unless you all use some method to immediately see if mods work).

Glad to read your message too, steam forums are filled with backseat moderators who think to own the scene they comment and troll every single topic, moderators don't do nothing, and they trash talk and so on.. It s unbearable ♥♥♥♥ and Valve is responsible for Gaming becoming utter toxicity...

I hope to finally enjoy this game..

Yeah wont play online also because i would join other multiplayer xp than this one.
Can't stand 3' irl 1h in game speed of time.

I just started using mods this week though I have a lot of hours playtime in story and online .. online though I use a private server.

Mods work but main thing is to always check to see what is required .. what files are needed to be installed (copied to the install folder)

It seems for example if you use a mod that changes the mechanics of weapons and you use another mod that does a lot of things but also one of the things it does is change mechanics of guns then you will or may have conflicts .. I have 7 mods installed ... 7 different ones with it seems no conflicts each mod though is basically completely different than the other one ..

They are:

Contracts - gives you side missions to do kind of like a blood mission in online play

Duels - You can do a duel with any npc that pisses you off

Gun Metal - Makes the guns look better if you think so worth a try

Jobs - Allows you to open a store or do this or that kind of like in online play have not done this yet but signs are in the world that give you options I have seen the signs so the mod is working

Less Money - Supposedly causes you to get less money not sure if it works have not done any money stuff yet ..

Main Horse Overhaul - The horses are no longer all the same this mod seems to work I notice horses in the world have different stats - I'm motivated now to just go get my own wild horse and use it when I find a good one

Rampage Trainer .. - This mod does 1,000 different things .. I only use it to keep my horse clean because the brush does not work - I will use the teleport feature at some point. I think this one will allow you to tweak the time thing so you get longer days ..

Regarding bugs and tweaking fixing seems a person is suppose to take a screen shot of their install folder and its files prior to installing any mods then install mods if you have problems then troubleshoot and isolate by painstakingly ... install one mod at a time and see if it works then install another one .. if you install one and you get crashes then more than likely the one you last installed is the problem.

At nexus mods it tells you what is required to run the mod which other mods etc. and how to install the mod files ..

This imo is one of the best videos on how to get started

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZPNG9KxRpt8

But I have not looked for all of them .. Main thing I found also was make sure you copy the lml folder along with the files it says to copy ... when you do the lenny's thing or maybe it was the fishhook thing or something .. one video I saw said copy the files or drag the files and it was real quick but the dude drug files AND the lml folder which I initially missed...

some mods you simply copy two files to the install directory others you put some files into the lml folder others you copy a folder to the install folder or rd2 .. but they tell you what to do.
I alreay installed them all but never started to play...
Most of the things in the first hours when I started worked... then I added new things or had no time to play.
I learn all the time how to make things work in a game modding scene.
This game for example doesn't need to have latest version of lml or ab script hook but instead I read in many places it is sometime suggested to use the previous versions, same with mods. Some people with the crucial Longer days (I have no idea how people can play this game without it... it's terrible the game without it) say in the recent comments to not use the last version but instead use the previous version (so not to update it)...

I will see... Anyway I really hope I will not have problems with missions as I heard one of the main issues is this one: when you go in some missions you are forced to repeat it infinitely as the game doesn't progress.

I read comments descriptions yeah... I am not the average player that wants a mod and tries to install without even knowing how the mod works.

With the update 1491.50, not a single mod is working. The game runs still flawless. Tried all latest possible scripthooks (the original site loops and cannot be downloaded, tried all other methods also) LML does not regognise the game running, still it regognises installed mods. Tried via Nexus and rdr2Mods, googled also all possible solutions without help. Not actually sure what to try to do, basic game works but nothing I have tried works with the mods. Everything else is up to date, rig is good for max settings but the user may lack some skills. But beside that, is there anything else to do for mods to work?
No, please. No.
Please.
Is this update possible to be prevented?
I will not play the game. Stupid me waiting all this time.
How come what you say is dated 1 year ago and nobody said anything about this in this topic here. And also in Nexus there seems to be no reference to this issue?

Maybe everyone has forgotten the game as they played it and now don't play it anymore so nobody wrote about it?

There seems to have been an update also now on the 19 th of march!
