How to find a trapper early in the game

Hey all,
I'm finally getting around to playing RDR2 for the first time. I'm early in the game and I've just killed the legendary bear. There are no trappers on the map or the index, and there's no St Denis on the map yet. Can you tell me the quickest way to find a trapper so I don't waste this beautiful pelt?

In the northwest of the Elysian Pool (New Hanover)

At the very western edge of the map in West Elizabeth, near the tributary of Lake Owanjila

Northeast of Riggs Station in West Elizabeth

Near the Lower Montana River (Tall Trees, West Elizabeth)

You have to uncover Saint Denis to find the first trapper.

You can find two trappers right from the start of chapter 2.

One is SE of O'Creaghs run and the other one is in St. Denis (which is probably easier to find if you don't know the map). Getting there is easy... just follow the roadsigns.
