Can you rob banks in single player not story missions

You can't rob banks in freeroam, but you can rob any store.

There's a mod somewhere that lets you do this but just like in GTA V you can't rob banks by default

So many guides online about how to rob banks in singleplayer, they warn about how challenging as singleplayer, but then when you try to actually follow the process, it doesn't work. Am I missing something (or are so many of those guides just assuming because of the bank "mission").

There's a ps4 exclusive mission to rob the rhodes bank.

And you can rob banks as part of the main storyline.
I've never been able to rob one in free-roam tho.

Not PS4 exclusive; it also comes with the Steam SE edition.

That being said: it's pretty a pretty underwhelming 10 minute mission... it's fun, but not really elaborate like the heist in the GTAV story.

Yes. I have the ultimate special edition, but the guides, like the one I shared here... says that banks are plenty and available for robbing, like stagecoaches, etc.
